And the two excellent bodhicittas, the vows to abandon misdeeds, and the accumulation of virtuous dharmas. These three, benefiting sentient beings, are the three bodhicittas that depend on the three trainings. In particular, on the path of accumulation and application, due to the eight consciousnesses and their habitual tendencies, the element of one's own nature, like the sun, is obscured and cannot be seen, merely for the sake of fondness and practice. From the first to the seventh bhumi, due to the reversal of the afflicted mind, hundreds of virtues manifest, and the obscuration of the element is partially purified, so the vision of wisdom is somewhat clear, and it is called pure higher intention. In the three purifications, the way the five senses and the alaya consciousness are reversed is that on the eighth bhumi, the mind consciousness is reversed, so non-conceptual wisdom is attained; on the ninth bhumi, the five sense consciousnesses are reversed, so a pure buddha-field is attained; on the tenth bhumi, the alaya consciousness is reversed, so perfect wisdom is attained. Because of the vastness of aspiration and merit, it is called the vipaka bodhicitta. In the buddha-bhumi, it is the ultimate bodhicitta that has abandoned all obscurations. Similarly, the five bodhicittas that are in accordance with the five paths of accumulation, application, seeing, meditation, and no-more-learning, and the six ways of bodhicitta that depend on the six paramitas. Explaining the twenty-two distinctions of bhumis and paths, etc., refers to the category that is pervaded by the aspiration connected with thought. The twenty-two distinctions of bhumis and paths are: Acharya Maitri said: That is, earth, gold, moon without stain, treasure and source of jewels, sea, vajra, mountain, medicine, spiritual friend and good friend, wish-fulfilling jewel, sun, song, king's treasury and great road, riding, adorned water, and musical instrument, river, clouds, etc., there are twenty-two aspects. Explaining that the aspiration bodhicitta has three aspects and the action bodhicitta has nineteen aspects is from the path of accumulation to the tenth bhumi, while the eleventh bhumi is the buddha-bhumi, so it is not connected with this. Root verse: Whoever seeks his own happiness, within the gate that is always unceasing, does not give disturbance to the mind of the beggar, this is called uninterrupted offering. If it is worthy of praise, then for the benefit of all sentient beings, even if only a moment of beneficial bodhicitta arises, it can cut off the gates of the lower realms, and in the realms of gods and humans, the merit of enjoying happiness is inexhaustible. This speaks of whoever.

If someone strives to do good and give alms for their own benefit, and always draws from an inexhaustible treasury, preventing greed and not giving rise to afflictions, such a person should be regarded as worthy of praise for eternal offerings. If merely a single thought of Bodhicitta arises to benefit all sentient beings, it can close the doors to the three lower realms, and be reborn in the realms of gods and humans, enjoying happiness. This merit is more excellent than the former and is inexhaustible. The above is what is said. Root verse: The special feature is that the merits are limitless, with the ritual that is pervasive through actual application, from the beginning, the unwavering mind, the vow to liberate beings is extremely firm. From then on, even if one is heedless or asleep, the merit will continue to be connected. It has been explained from the level of practice, along with the reasons. This passage means that the special feature is that even just making aspirations, the merits are immeasurable. For those who truly enter the ritual, from the beginning, they generate an unwavering Bodhicitta, and their vow to liberate beings is very firm. From then on, even if one is heedless, in an unspecified state, or asleep, losing mindfulness, the merit will continue to be connected, as it is said from the level of Mahayana practice. Root verse: Even the accumulation of many eons will be offset, like livestock, elephants, vehicles, the sun and moon, etc., the speed of travel is fast or slow, boundless. With the power of great intelligence, through skillful means and diligent wisdom, one can destroy the vows of countless three great asamkhya kalpas. This passage means that although it is said in the sutras that sharp faculties require three countless great kalpas, medium faculties require seven countless great kalpas, and dull faculties require thirty-three countless great kalpas to attain Buddhahood, for those who truly enter the Mahayana path, even the accumulation of many eons will be offset by each arising of Bodhicitta. The difference in the size and magnitude of Bodhicitta is: like a vehicle drawn by livestock, this is one; like an elephant, this is the second; like the movement of the sun and moon, this is the third; like the emanation of a Shravaka, this is the fourth; like the emanation of a Tathagata, this is the fifth. The first is
