Acting sinfully through evil deeds will certainly lead to the utter loss of one's own happiness. Such individuals, upon passing away from this world, will inevitably descend into the three lower realms of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, as well as the long-lived gods, namely, the formless realm, border regions, or barbarians, and those who pervert virtue and vice. Furthermore, those with incomplete faculties, such as defects in the eyes, ears, and tongue, will sequentially experience the flaws of not seeing the Dharma, not hearing the Dharma, and being unable to articulate the Dharma, respectively. Conditions such as mental derangement and epilepsy render one incapable of relying on memory. Wrong views involve denying that the ripening of virtuous and non-virtuous actions gives rise to happiness and suffering, thus slandering cause and effect. The absence of a Buddha's emergence refers to times when, even though a teacher appears in this age of strife, people's lifespans gradually diminish, and they are afflicted by disease, weapons, and famine, causing the Buddha's teachings to temporarily decline. It also refers to the time when the teachings of the thousand Buddhas have ended, and the dark aeon of the future dawns, with those who hold power. Root verse: At once, no chance to seek, ground of burning iron, Punishment of weapons, harsh and repeatedly, Taking life, unable to die, hell beings, Still by angry deeds, ensnared in evil net. This refers to the first of the eight unfree states, which is hell. There are said to be eighteen hells in total: eight hot hells, eight cold hells, and two neighboring hells. Even though one experiences the sufferings of each of these, one cannot die because the karmic result of being born there has not been exhausted. Moreover, one is still bound by the net of evil deeds with a mind of anger, unable to reach the state of liberation, and therefore lacks the leisure to practice Dharma. Hungry ghosts are also of two types: those who dwell in the environment and those who wander in the sky. Commonly, they constantly experience the suffering of hunger and thirst, and therefore lack the leisure to practice Dharma. Animals also share the common characteristic of being ignorant and shrouded in the darkness of delusion, unable to distinguish between virtue and vice, and suffering from harming each other. In particular, those in the human realm are used for killing, bloodletting, shearing wool, carrying loads, and riding. Horses and mules are fitted with bridles, and yaks are pierced with nose rings and bound with ropes. In short, they are subjected to physical abuse and mental torment for the sake of being used at will, and therefore lack the leisure to practice Dharma. Root verse: Pus, blood, feces, etc. also

, which is difficult to find. No need to mention the suffering of the starving pretas. Rivers and trees dry up in an instant when looked upon. The suffering of burning viscera is endless. Due to the power of obscurations, there is no certainty of lifespan. Animals devour each other. Hunters cruelly set traps to take lives, and those who are tamed for labor suffer greatly. What is the use of being born in such places? These will be explained below when discussing the faults of samsara, and it has already been said, so it ends here. Root text: Prolonging life with extremely long lifespans. Without distinguishing the opportunity for rebirth, the formless realm, and. The basis for hearing and thinking is interrupted, the gods of the realm of non-discrimination. Having wrong views at the time of death, there is no leisure. This also means that those born in the formless realm, although they live long lives, do not have the body as a basis relying on the root, channels, and winds, so they have no opportunity to enter the realm of knowledge, and therefore have no leisure. Root text: Even if one relies well on two feet. But their consciousness is not virtuous. The barbarians who are bound and ruled. Wander in the midst of extreme confusion of what to accept and reject. This means that although barbarians stand and walk on two feet, and the form of aggregates, elements, and sense bases is similar to humans, all their thoughts, actions, and deeds are only unwholesome, so they have no leisure to practice Dharma. Root text: The deaf and mute who have broken the vows of the senses. Even if they meet noble guides. It's like a clamor blocked by a rock. Lamenting in a vast rural monastery where language is not understood. This means that some people are deaf and mute, so they cannot communicate; some people are deaf and mute in their minds, so even if they associate with excellent people, they have no leisure because they are ignorant of what to accept and reject in terms of good and evil. Root text: The great ship that crosses the ocean of samsara. After obtaining the waving banner of intelligence, yet again. Not rejoicing in the appearance of the Buddha. Those who hold wrong views are tormented by demons. This means that some people outwardly appear to have wealth and enjoyment, and are very intelligent, showing the appearance of helping others, teaching others, and preventing others from doing evil, but they do not rejoice in the appearance of the Buddha, but rather say with contempt and slander: there are no results of good and evil deeds, no suffering and happiness, and no future life, etc., speaking like non-Buddhists, these are those who hold wrong views. Turning their backs on virtuous deeds.
