Noh! Thus, having briefly explained the source and reason of the Three Jewels, now, connecting with the benefits, generating joy. Root text: With the letter renowned as the "Three Precious Ones," making the pearl vine exceedingly happy, the face of the demon's daughter, like a garden of jasmine, for those who do evil deeds, manifesting the power of approaching the Buddha. Thus it is said. Just as it is said: The teacher, the unsurpassed Buddha Jewel, the protector, the unsurpassed Dharma Jewel, the guide, the unsurpassed Sangha Jewel, I prostrate to the unsurpassed Three Jewels. As it is said, in general, the sound of the letter known as the "Three Jewels" is vast and continuous. Although it is known in the state of the eight unfavorable conditions, it lacks the fortune of hearing and practicing properly. Wherever it is known, in any place, high or low, whoever it may be, the seeds of virtue and goodness will surely be obtained. Combining with a past story to explain the teacher: As it says in the Wish-Fulfilling Vine: A merchant named Norchen (Great Wealth) once appeared in Varanasi. His family was virtuous, named Rinchen Den (Possessing Jewels). When he became the fifth owner, that woman, with great reverence, offered a large necklace at the top of the stupa. Due to the ripening of that merit, she was reborn as the daughter of the lord of Simhala (Sri Lanka), named Mutik (Pearl) Vine. In another life, she became arrogant and ignorant due to wealth, slandered offerings, and became angry, so she became a servant for a long time. Whatever deeds, good or bad, beings sow in the field of rebirth. Thus, when she was born as a servant named Rohita in the Shakya family, when the teacher taught the Dharma, both the wife of the Shakya and the servant went together. The mistress's pearl necklace was left at home. When the mistress sent the servant to fetch it, the servant thought, "I have no chance to hear such profound Dharma, but I have to go, my fate is so bad." Just as she was about to go, the teacher, knowing her thoughts, taught her a verse of Dharma. As she recited it, she was struck by a cow on the way and died. Immediately, she was reborn as the daughter of the king of Simhala, and as soon as she was born, a great rain of pearls fell, so she was named Pearl Woman or Pearl Vine.

Through the power of his merit, when merchants from Shravasti crossed the ocean and arrived in Simhala, during the night, when they sang some verses spoken by the Teacher, a girl heard it, her mind was captivated, and she said, "Good people, please sing that song again." The merchants said, "This is not a song, it is the teaching of the Buddha." Upon hearing the name of the Buddha, she was like a peacock hearing the summer thunder, and she inquired about the history of the Buddha. The merchants told the biography of the Buddha as much as they could, and that girl became even more delighted than before, and sent such a letter to the feet of the Teacher, which the Teacher read knowing its contents: "Alas, you are the mindfulness obtained through the merchandise of merit! You are the excellent medicine of existence that destroys decline, suffering, and craving! The words that come from the Blessed One are the place to experience true value. Blessed One, you are my nectar, you have become my great fortune!" Having seen this, the Teacher manifested his own body, which even a painter could not depict, as if spreading rays of light on a canvas, and sent it back to that girl with some verses of teaching. As soon as she saw the image, she immediately took refuge in the Three Jewels, observed the five precepts, understood the nature of dependent origination and the Noble Eightfold Path, and attained the fruit of stream-entry. Then, that girl brought the people of that place into the gate of the Dharma. She offered a bag of top-quality pearls from Magadha to each of the Three Jewels. The image given to the girl was known as "Thupa Odzerma" (Buddha of Radiant Light), and it was the beginning of all Buddha images. If we think in such a way, then the true Dharma words related to the cause and effect of the Three Jewels are like a letter, suitable for all beings. For those who carry the burden of the eight worldly concerns arising from the nature of samsara, afflictions, and conceptual thoughts, the derogatory term "daughter of Mara" is applied. If she does not obtain a connection with the Buddha's teachings and does not turn her mind towards virtue, then even her face, which is as beautiful as a grove of Kundha flowers, will be regarded as a defect due to past misfortune, and thus avoided.
