To the east is Dhṛtarāṣṭra, to the south is Virūḍhaka, to the west is Virūpākṣa, and to the north is Vaiśravaṇa. These four are the palaces of the Four Great Kings, where the Four Great Kings reside, surrounded by Gandharvas, Kumbhāṇḍas, Nāgas, and Yakṣas, starting from the east in four directions, possessing immeasurable enjoyments of the gods. Above the summit of Mount Meru, the width of the sun is fifty-one yojanas, and the circumference is three times that. Below is a beryl fire mirror. The moon is fifty yojanas wide, with the same circumference as the sun, and below is a crystal water mirror. The height of both is six and a half yojanas, plus one-eighteenth of a yojana. The circumference of the platforms of both the sun and moon is surrounded by gold and silver walls, filled with the sons of gods, the sun, and the moon is filled with many goddesses. The stars have various palaces of crystal, gold, bronze, etc., and the upper part is surrounded by a gold wall. The lifespan is eighteen kroshas less, about one krosha. The second heaven of desire is on the summit of Mount Meru, with the unmixed abode of Sudarśana and the Sudharmā Hall, etc., of the Thirty-three Gods, mainly thirty-two Sudarśana gods, plus the lord of the gods and thirty-three gods, so it is called the Thirty-three. In the four corner rooms of the summit of Mount Meru, reside the Yakṣas holding vajras, which are the abodes of the gods. From the City of Good Vision to the land where corpses can be measured, from the east in four directions, are the four gardens: the Mixed Vehicle Grove, the Rough Grove, the Mixed Grove, and the Joyful Grove. In that grove, there are thrones of glory for a thousand leaders, and outside of that, there are four good lands, called Mixed, called Mixed Together, called Rough, and called Joyful. To the northeast of that excellent city is a universally gathering tree, and next to it is a slab of stone as white as ammonite, fifty yojanas in length and width, where the gods of the Thirty-three gather in the first month of summer and enjoy the five objects of desire. To the southwest of the City of Good Vision is the Sudharmā Hall. Thus, these two heavens of desire rely on the earth. Due to the common cause of merit, the four heavens of desire that reside in the sky are: the Heaven of No Strife, the Tuṣita Heaven, the Nirmāṇarati Heaven, and the Paranirmitavaśavartin Heaven, in ascending order.
