From the rosary of mantras, white, yellow, red, green, blue, and other rays of light emanate, thereby accomplishing the four activities of pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subjugating. Furthermore, one should understand the intention to gather and attain the supreme accomplishment of the great bliss of union. If it is related to a great gathering, it is also said in the scriptures that one should circumambulate the mandala and chant. In short, at all times and in all circumstances, one should not be separated from the three holdings, that is, the body appears empty and clearly as the deity's form; speech sounds empty and resounds as mantra; mind is aware of emptiness and abides clearly in the heart. From this state, generate diligence in recitation. Like this, even if one imputes existence to the non-existent self, front, vase, and the three, it is different from the generation stage of conceptual imputation, because this is the great perfection generation stage that accords with the way the three bodies of the Buddha reside in the fruition, where the outer and inner worlds and beings are originally clear as the assembly of peaceful and wrathful deities. Because it is only an affirmation of what is already the pure nature, there is nothing else, so even if one does not make distinctions such as a recitation room, there is no contradiction, or so I think. There also appears to be a practice of doing two sessions combining day and night. However, the morning session and the noon session twice, the evening session and the dawn session twice, these four sessions are easy to practice. If we take a month as an example, starting from the evening session of the first day, for the first ten days each session is slightly shorter and the breaks between sessions are slightly longer, and from then on gradually learn to make each session longer and the breaks between sessions shorter. Moreover, the number of mantras should also be gradually increased, and it is not permissible to decrease them. It is also heard that one should not end a session until the number of mantras for each session has been completed.

Please grant the accomplishment of the four activities, the attainment of the eight great siddhis, and other supreme and common attainments. After saying this, offer and praise, and after any confession text, recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra three times and dedicate the merit. Among these, the Seven Branch Practice should be recited daily without interruption during the evening session. Although it is important to mainly recite the mantra of the deity during the beginning, middle, and end of the retreat for both the Hundred Syllable Mantra and the Long Mantra, it is also important to recite them daily. If you are willing to recite them daily, it is not forbidden. The Tsok offering and fulfillment should also be done in the same way. When rising from a session, one should not be separated from the three samayas, and enjoy food and drink in the manner of a Tsokhor. Apart from that, one should do a continuous practice that should not be interrupted at all times, even if it is just a small amount of recitation. It is extremely important to focus on the essential practice of recitation and accomplishment. Moreover, in general, as stated in the recitation texts, any food that robs the power of mantra, such as mountain onions and water onions, should not be eaten without being blessed. During retreat, physical retreat means avoiding seeing each other, speech retreat means avoiding talking to others, and mind retreat means avoiding scattered thoughts. In other sessions, one should act as if practicing the illusory body of the deity, and when sleeping, one should gather appearances into emptiness, not clinging to annihilation, but remembering the clear light and falling asleep in a state free from grasping and being grasped. When waking up in the morning, one should not scatter into the vastness of delusion, but learn to be without distraction and clinging. When engaging in scattered practices, the ability to recite and the power will increase, so one should practice from the difficulty of finding leisure and fortune to the Guru Yoga. During the Guru Yoga, visualize the nature of the peaceful and wrathful deities as vast as the ocean, and pray to the great accomplished ones of India and Tibet, such as Guru Padmasambhava, as well as the Three Roots and Dharma Protectors. Finally, after reciting the Vajra Guru Mantra a hundred times, it is acceptable to conclude a session with only the general collection of peaceful and wrathful deities. Why? Because the peaceful and wrathful deities have not gone beyond the manifestation of the Guru. As it is said: The Guru is the Buddha, the Guru is the Dharma, likewise, the Guru is also the Sangha, the practitioner himself should not doubt.
