The new yidam deities such as the Heart Wheel Hevajra, and the three inner tantras, namely, Mahāyoga, Aṇuyoga, and Atiyoga, are also generally just the vase empowerment, the secret empowerment, the wisdom-gnosis empowerment, and the word empowerment, which are four. In Atiyoga, the pinnacle of vehicles, the specific order of empowerments also includes the vase empowerment with elaboration, the secret empowerment without elaboration, the wisdom empowerment with extreme non-elaboration, and the word empowerment with utmost non-elaboration. In general, the distinctions of empowerments in the secret mantra Vajrayana are vast and limitless, but they are encompassed by the outline and the established boundaries are of four types: the base vase empowerment, the path secret empowerment and wisdom empowerment, and the result fourth empowerment, which is the four empowerments that are primordially accomplished by the power of awareness. The place where the vase empowerment is conferred is the channels and body as the main thing; the place where the secret empowerment is conferred is the ten winds; the support for the place where the wisdom empowerment is conferred is the bindu of white and red elements; the place where the fourth empowerment is conferred is the alaya consciousness, which is common. These are not produced from effort and practice, but are naturally inherent, and the four are equally possessed. The cause that makes them arise simultaneously is twofold: the disciple who is suitable is the causal condition, the master who has vast views and possesses realization is the lordly condition, and the visualization condition is the knowledge of the ritual with the ability of view, mantra, and samadhi. The order of the four empowerments is the interdependent arising of one relying on the other, which is the immediate condition. The empowerment is accomplished from the gathering of two causes and four conditions. Furthermore, the way to distinguish them is through the doors of antidote, provisional meaning, and definitive meaning: The main aspects of the body, the central channel, and the three channels, left and right, are symbols of the three kayas, Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya; the five chakras of the five places are symbols of the five families. The form of the channels exists in the form of letters, that is, in the six places of the body, the impure ones are the seeds of the six realms of beings, and the pure ones are the essence of the three kayas of the Buddhas, existing in the form of the three syllables. Moreover, in the place of the Roma method channel, there are vowel letters, and in the place of the Kyangma wisdom channel, there are consonant letters, and so on, as it is said. Thus, the support of the channels and winds is: the upward-moving wind, that is, the breath of the mouth and nose, takes in food and drink.

And, in the stomach, there exists the wind of fire-equality, which digests food; in the path of excreting feces and urine, there exists the downward-clearing wind, which performs the work of expelling impurities; in the heart of the life-channel, there exists the life-wind, or the wind of kalpa-karma devoid of compassion, which maintains life when the position does not shift, and performs the work of separating body and life when it shifts; the pervasive or moving wind resides in the general body and especially in the limbs and extremities, and it performs the work of walking, standing, and various activities. In addition to that, the winds of the five elements each perform their respective functions. Thus, these ten winds rely on the form of the channels, the white and red elements, and the elements rely on the ultimate bodhicitta, the ultimate Tathāgatagarbha. Relying on the four reliances. Moreover, for all self-continuums of beings in the desire realm, the four forms of desire, etc., are also certain to arise in dependence on the order of the four objects of purification, the four desires, and the four empowerments of purification. First, the desire that is satisfied by looking at the object of purification resides in the Paranirmita-vasavartin, relying on the mandala of the purifying mandala, which is the vase empowerment. The empowerment purifies the four obscurations, mainly purifying the obscuration of the body, the outer container world and the inner sentient beings, animate and inanimate, aggregates, elements, and sense bases, all complete with the three cushions, the aggregates and elements being the departed and the departed mother, the objects of power being the heroes and heroines, the consciousness of the body, the faculties, and the four objects of touch and touch-consciousness being pure in their place as the four doors, and the four views of permanence, annihilation, self, and sign being pure in their place as the four door-mothers, the eight door-keepers, fathers and mothers, etc., appearing as manifestations of a single mandala. Appearance and emptiness and the union of the two, namely the parikalpita, paratantra, and parinispanna, the nature of the three natures. Its ultimate result is samsara, without end downwards, nirvana without end upwards, in the great expanse of non-duality, it is not stained by the conceptual thoughts of signs, and when the moment of death called “འདའ་ཀ་” arrives, the instruction for attaining buddhahood without meditation is that the support of one's own consciousness, appearing as a sphere of light, attains bliss with the sound of “ཧིག་”.
