Similarly, many teachings on the union of definitive emptiness and compassion, etc., appear in other treatises. Second, regarding practice, there are two types: peaceful and wrathful deities. First, for the peaceful deities, there are two aspects: the meaning of the meditation and the meaning of the mantra. First, visualize Vajrakīla (a type of ritual dagger) in the heart of the Jñānasattva (wisdom being), in place of the Mani jewel (wish-fulfilling jewel). From it, rays of light emanate, offering to the Buddhas, gathering blessings, and purifying the obscurations of sentient beings, thereby spontaneously accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others. Contemplate in this way and recite the mantra. Second, the meaning of the mantra. Beginning with the syllables Oṃ (seed syllable of body or perfection), Āḥ (seed syllable of speech or generation), and Hūṃ (seed syllable of mind or destruction), Vajra means the secret gathering of the Dharmakāya (body of truth), the indestructible nature of Vajra indicates that the Dharmakāya is free from conceptual elaboration and cannot be moved by conceptual distinctions. Guru means the Lama (spiritual teacher), the sound of Guru is heavy, indicating the fullness of the seven-fold union of unsurpassed qualities, like being completely filled, symbolizing the Sambhogakāya (body of enjoyment) of the five skull-bearing deities. Padma, which is also retained in Chinese, means the speech Vajra is untainted, symbolizing the Nirmāṇakāya (body of emanation) Padmasambhava (Lotus-born) of the flawless lotus family. Such a great Vajradhara (Vajra-holder) whose three bodies are inseparable, the self-arisen lotus skull-bearer, we call upon you, for what purpose? Siddhi means supreme and common accomplishments, Hūṃ is the mantra of urging, so the whole sentence means please grant us accomplishments. This Vajra mantra is the king of all mantras, here it is only translated literally, but other explanations of outer, inner, and secret meanings are beyond the comprehension of ordinary individuals. Second is the wrathful deity, which also has two aspects: the meaning of the meditation and the meaning of the understanding. First, by reciting the mantra oneself, the vows of the five wrathful deities are stimulated, from their bodies emanate wrathful assemblies, wielding weapons, destroying all obstacles, demons, enemies, evil spirits, and cruel beings, seizing their life force, subduing them, and employing them as servants. Those who cannot be tamed by peaceful means are burned in the realm of wisdom. Contemplate in this way and recite the mantra. Second, beginning with the three seed syllables, Ar Cik (very wrathful), Nir Cik (extremely wrathful), is the representation of the Tathāgata (Thus-gone one). Some translators translate this as a mantra with flames of light. Bhagawate (Blessed One), Namo means to pay homage, in short, it is to pay homage to the wrathful and extremely wrathful Blessed One. Hūṃ Hūṃ is to strongly urge their vows, and Phaṭ is to urge their actions. Third is the activity, which is also divided into supreme activity and general activity. First is the supreme activity, which is also divided into the meaning of meditation and the mantra. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
