Q: How can beings subject to the power of existence have freedom? By offering flesh to such meat-eating deities, even if they are temporarily pleased, those greedy ones will eventually devour you. In such sudden calamities, who can be your refuge? Do those who are taken as such deities possess wisdom, compassion, and power? If they have wisdom, in any place and at any time, do they see who makes offerings and praises to them? If they do not know, then offering to them is useless in some cases. If they see, then tell me the reason why they are omniscient. If they have thoughts of compassion, why are they pleased by killing? If compassion is biased, then they should not be worshiped by all. If they have no power, what can they do even if they are worshiped? If they have the power to protect forever, why have they not first attained a state of eternal happiness themselves? Without attaining eternal happiness themselves, they cannot lead others to eternal happiness. Show me the reason why they themselves are eternally happy. It is impossible for them to be eternally happy without a cause. If there is a cause, why not tell what that cause is? If happiness and suffering are caused by others, then they have no freedom. The idea that only they are the cause has already been refuted by reason. If there is no proof and only harm, and you rely only on hearsay, do you not realize that you have been deceived by those words if you examine them well? If it is not established by the power of reality and reason, then all the tricks and deceptions used to deceive children cannot prove the point. By genuine reason, when the imputation is cut off from within, even if the world, including the gods, leads it astray from the outside, know that it is deception. What good are those who are without knowledge, without compassion, and without power? Like ordinary spirits, even if they are helpful in some cases, they are not a permanent refuge. In the realms of the world, great demons who wander around deceive beings with various forms, and the ignorant take them as gods. Thus, the root of all faults is the mind that clings to self. And since that arises from attachment to objects, when examining that self, know that it is deluded like a mirage, and by becoming accustomed to that, when the view of the aggregates of existence is reversed, all the afflictions that arise from it are reversed, which is established by the power of reality and reason. Seeing such selflessness is like a fire when the fuel is exhausted. One passes completely from all suffering. This is the teaching of the Buddha. Whichever side is outside of this, there is no liberation.

My mind is attached to the self, And I am deluded by ignorance into existence. Afflictions, actions, and their results, Cause the aggregates of existence to continue. Therefore, the one who shows the path of selflessness, The incomparable teacher, Once established as the ultimate refuge, Then his teachings and his upholders, Are truly established as the Three Jewels. The true deity and the non-harming Dharma, And what is the path to liberation, Do not exist in your system, So know that you do not have the Three Refuges. If the path is not properly established, Then the one who shows it and the one who enters it, Will not become pure, Like the fruit of a poisonous tree. The world is born from actions, And actions are divided into good and non-good, Which are the causes of happiness and suffering in order. For this statement, No valid cognition can refute it, And the reasonable path is also visible, Everything that this teacher says, Is seen to be purified by the three examinations. The inner cause and effect grow rapidly, The distinctions of each action and its result, Cannot be fully comprehended, As revealed by the true words. The perfect cause and its teachings, Establish his omniscience, Therefore, the omniscient one knows this, Again increases my faith. Even though I do not know the power of medicines, mantras, and substances, But as shown by those with clairvoyance, Upon entering, the result is infallible. The words of the supreme Shakyamuni, Do not deceive about hidden things, When measuring the three places by what is seen, One receives the appearance of the compassionate supreme one. The form body (Rūpakāya) of the supreme Victor, Is always seen by the pure mind. Seeing this has great qualities, Because it possesses inconceivable power. Through accumulating great merit, Or single-mindedly purifying, It is difficult to see otherwise, Like a treasure of a wish-fulfilling jewel. The wisdom free from delusion, Combined with the power of compassion, If one practices many kinds of samadhi, Then the arising of wisdom that reaches the ultimate of purity, Can be correctly established by the reasoning of actual power, therefore, Know that the protector who sees all, Exists as if present before you. If you say it does not exist because you do not see it now, Then the essence of your own body, etc., You do not see it now, So do you also think that it does not exist? Your deity and teacher, Are not the objects of action for all, Even if seen by the trick of illusion, Because it is an illusion, it is not a reason for existence. People who have died in the past, etc., Appear clearly before you, And can see true and false mixed together, So such seeing... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
