Herein is the method for subduing all diseases and evil spirits. Homage to Padmasambhava (Padma Thotreng Tsal). In the first half of his life, he diligently practiced the Dharma; in the second half, he subdued fierce demons. For the benefit of suffering beings, I will explain the fierce practice of the Black Garuda. The place for practice should be a sacred site where Padmasambhava subdued the Nagas (Naga, Sanskrit: नाग, Roman transliteration: Nāga, literal meaning: snake), or on a mountaintop. Initially, this should be done; for daily practice, there is no need to be confined to a fixed location. After taking refuge (Triratna, Sanskrit: त्रिरत्न, Roman transliteration: triratna, literal meaning: Three Jewels) and generating Bodhicitta (Bodhicitta, Sanskrit: बोधिचित्त, Roman transliteration: bodhicitta, literal meaning: mind of enlightenment), visualize oneself as the Black Garuda formed from wrathful water, with hair like flames, wings filled with sharp blades, horns, a beak, and claws made of meteoric iron (Thogcha, Tibetan: ཐོག་ལྕགས།, literal meaning: sky iron), exceedingly sharp and blazing fiercely. With glaring eyes, bared fangs, and emitting the Garuda's cry, causing the eight classes of beings (Deva, Sanskrit: देव, Roman transliteration: deva, literal meaning: god) and Naga demons to tremble in fear. At the heart, visualize a black 'khrOm' (khrOm, Tibetan: ཁྲོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Chinese literal meaning:) syllable on top of a sun disc, embodying the power of all the wrathful deities. From the 'khrOm' syllable, flames rise and burn intensely, transforming diseases and evil spirits into bluish-red smoke, expelled from the pores of the body. Furthermore, visualize the mantra of the deity as flames, burning fierce and violent diseases and evil spirits into ashes. With the pride of the Garuda King, recite this single fierce mantra: Om Lhang Lhang Tser Tser Trigg Trigg Shag Shag Shel Shel Thum Thum Gas Pur Nan Sod Sod! Bless the body, mind, mantra water, food, and medicine with this fierce mantra of the Black Garuda, and repeatedly ingest them. Its benefits are as follows: It can cure coughs, fever, boils, colds, swollen lymph nodes, black colic, headaches, and various infectious diseases. It can also treat leprosy, edema, tumors, sores, harm caused by Nagas and earth spirits, and all eight congenital diseases, enabling protection, healing, and subjugation. Especially for severe types of smallpox, just as a flock of hundreds of birds drives away a crow, this single fierce mantra can destroy them. In general, for any mantra, it is crucial to complete the preliminary practices and the required number of recitations. On auspicious days such as the tenth and twenty-fifth, and during solar and lunar eclipses, diligently reciting can increase the number of recitations, fulfilling the mantra's count. Through the blessings of the Nungsang syllables, vowels, and consonants, power and effects can be quickly generated. Reciting on an empty stomach at dawn, and without interrupting speech, can make the mantra sharper and its blessings greater. Eliminate doubt and hesitation, pronounce clearly and accurately, and recite hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of times according to the severity of the illness, repeating until successful. These are the key points of all instructions. This sharp blade of the Black Garuda can protect, heal, and subjugate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
