Furthermore, this has been mentioned repeatedly in oral instructions and teachings. In some types of 'Pho-ba,' if one sits in extreme darkness without moving the eyeballs, various visions will appear from it. Second, it is in accordance with the general posture. The method of placing the hands is: the fingers are drawn inwards individually, which is said to be the lord of the victors. Because drawing the fingers inwards is explained as the Vajrasattva type, both hands should make the vajra fist and be placed directly or crossed at the base of the thighs, as the previous lamas have said. Third, in the Uttaratantra of the Guhyasamaja, it says, 'During practice, the crown is large.' Naropa said, 'The large crown is the crown chakra, so its way of looking is said to be looking upwards.' Therefore, cover half of the eye with the lower eyelid, making it a half-eye, and look upwards without moving the eyeballs. It has already been explained that this is necessary for the easy appearance of empty forms. Some people think that one should look at the sky above the Thangka, which contradicts the tantric explanation that 'looking upwards without closing the eyes will become a fault,' so it should be abandoned. Fourth, some people think that although restraints are applied to each sense organ, they still operate individually, which means they have not seen the point. Some scholars think that looking upwards is binding the eyes, and they think that this also binds other sense organs. Some guides for this think that during the finger-drawing, it is not necessary to insert the prana into the central channel, but some think that it must be inserted. However, there is no correct demonstration of how to insert the prana into the central channel, so I will explain it a little. There are two points to this: explaining why the prana must enter the central channel during the finger-drawing, and the purpose of inserting the prana into the central channel. The first point is: 'After the central channel is purified,' therefore, the finger-drawing is explained as a method of purifying the central channel. The way to purify the central channel is like clearing the ditch before drawing water into it. Therefore, the one who purifies or clears the central channel is the prana, and if the prana does not enter the inside of the central channel, how can the central channel be cleared from the outside of the central channel? Clearing the ditch from the outside of the ditch is truly strange! Therefore, if one does not want the prana to enter the central channel during the finger-drawing, then one should abandon the statement that the finger-drawing is a method of purifying the central channel.

There is not the slightest hesitation. Also, in the commentary on the tantra, in the explanation of the initial "entering the life force," it says: Here, first, the yogi should inject the life force into the central channel, in which the signs can be seen, the Avadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར།, Sanskrit Devanagari: avadūti, Sanskrit Romanization: avadūti, Chinese literal meaning: defiled). It means that, first, the life force is injected into the central channel, and the life force is injected into the Avadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར།, Sanskrit Devanagari: avadūti, Sanskrit Romanization: avadūti, Chinese literal meaning: defiled), from which signs such as smoke can be seen. Moreover, this can also be known from the fact that it is the same as what is said in the body vajra speech. Because immediately after that, it is said that the second life effort is the speech vajra. Therefore, it cannot be said that the life effort of first injecting the life force into the central channel. If there is no gathering at that time, and the life force is not injected into the central channel, then there is no place left to first inject the life force into the central channel. In addition, at the time of individual gathering, the ten signs must appear. Even if you want to, you must want it. These signs are said to appear from the entry of air into the central channel, as stated in the sutra: The mind is completely attached to the sky, the eyes do not blink, and one enters the vajra path completely. Smoke appears from emptiness. The sutra says this. The commentary says: Because the life force enters the central channel, it is only from emptiness. In this way, the vajra path is explained as the central channel. In short, it is also said at the beginning: In that, the impure Roma and Kyangma are seen when they are combined. It is said like this. Because it is impossible to combine Roma and Kyangma into one, it is from the combination of the breath of Roma and Kyangma in Dhuti (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར།, Sanskrit Devanagari: dhūti, Sanskrit Romanization: dhūti, Chinese literal meaning: washing) that signs such as smoke can be seen. Naropa also said in the commentary on "Brief Explanation of Empowerment," when singing the vajra song: When the life force is able to enter the central channel, then the vajra fire and smoke will appear. It is also said like this. The eleventh sign, the black line appearing in the time channel Avadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: avadūti, Sanskrit Romanization: avadūti, Chinese literal meaning: defiled), is also impossible to appear if the breath does not enter the central channel. If the breath does not enter the central channel, it must run in Roma and Kyangma. It is said that when the breath runs in these two, the signs of gathering will not be seen. As it is said in the commentary on the tantra: Although it is in all ways, it is not for children to watch at all times. Why is this? Because it is the power of the demon of afflictions, because the life force runs in the left and right channels. It is said like this. Through individual gathering and so on, if the yogis do not obtain the desired result, it can also be known by saying "it can be abandoned."
