It should not be distributed to anyone other than the eight types of people, and one should not sit or sleep on just the edge of it, nor should one put utensils inside it, nor should it be distributed to raw meat. When going, one should ask the lama and go if permitted. When going, one should clean one's own dwelling and go with words that are in accordance with the Dharma or with the silence of the noble ones. At resting places and watering places, for the sake of the owner of the water and the water gods, one should recite verses from the scriptures. When a newcomer arrives, one should greet them with "Welcome" and take their bowl, robes, etc., spread out a mat, and bow to the elders. One should ask, "Is that how you practice?" and strive to provide lodging and whatever else one can. One should not buy goods, and therefore one should not increase their price. One should not use the Sangha's goods without paying the price, nor should one clean them. For those who have renounced with the mind of Nirvana and are endowed with discipline, even hundreds of thousands of garments, five hundred-story houses, a hundred flavors of food, and even the property of the Arhat Sangha are permissible to enjoy. However, for those who are disciplined but lazy, what is taken from the patrons and claimed as one's own becomes a debt. One should not bless woolen items as the three robes, but use them only as bedding, and even if damaged, one should not expose the wool and wear it outside. When making a determination of suitability, one should not rely on the mind, one should not do it in the presence of those who have not taken full ordination, and one should not do it in public. When restoring something that has been abandoned, one should not abandon it to someone who does not know its characteristics. When distributing goods in common, if it is not designated as "remaining," there is no fault in one person taking it. One-third of the summer gains should be distributed to the novice monks. Those who wish to take full ordination should share food equally, and the novice monk and nun should share food and clothing equally. When distributing food, the elder should be instructed to "distribute it equally." When distributing food to the elderly, one should not take food without saying "Sampratha Bata". One should not give away the three robes, and when giving to the Sangha, one should not have any thought other than healing illness and giving back. Two-layered shoes that have not been processed with leather, and fancy yellow shoes, etc., as well as those with wrinkles like sheep horns, and ornaments decorated with jewels that make noise.
