Not opening the mouth without covering it, such as when yawning; not doing cleaning work with a single robe that the Bhagavan has permitted or not prohibited; those who possess discipline should not show reverence such as prostration to those who have broken their vows; not ordaining as a novice without a bowl; not conferring full ordination; even if there is a bowl, it should not be too small or too large, nor should it be a layman's bowl; the size of the bowl, the lower limit is eight, nine, or ten handfuls; the upper limit is twice that; seven "bre" of Shangdu Gurmo is the lower limit, and twice that is the upper limit, etc. Due to many different views, it is difficult for those who are disciplined and diligent to grasp the established boundaries, which seems tiring and confusing. If one measures according to one's own tradition, then the fullness of the thumb, the remaining part is equivalent to the weight of six ounces, or the amount that a quarter of melted butter can hold is the lower limit. Alternatively, the amount that one handful (mouth down) of cooked rice itself and a quarter of the amount can hold is the lower limit, and twice that is the upper limit, which seems to be the view of the Stainless Commentary. Do not take out or put in the bowl upright, nor should it be dried, it should be used moderately, that is, enjoy it with permitted actions. Do not pour the remaining leftovers from other containers into the bowl. Do not place the bowl on stones, unclean places, or places without a base, etc., arbitrarily. Do not carry it in your hand when carrying it, but tie it with non-leather ropes, etc., and carry it under your armpit. Protect it like your eyes. If you eat food regularly, then after six months, you should strive to perform respectful actions such as burning it. Do not immediately stand up from your seat upon seeing the Khenpo and the teacher, and do not punish those who should be punished, such as disbelievers and lazy people. The order of bodily cleansing is: when getting up in the morning, one should wash the mouth and face, etc. Use a toothbrush of eight fingers or more and twelve fingers or less. Scrape the tongue with an iron tongue scraper. Wash the utensils stained with dirt with earth. As well as feces, urine, saliva, etc.
