From the sign of "it is certain," it is established that what appears is not outside the mind of the one who perceives it. The subject of this syllogism is the appearance and the mind that perceives it. The meaning of the proposition is that these two are not different entities. If it is according to the mere appearance of falsity, then it is merely the negation of difference, but if it is according to the mere appearance of truth, then it is intended to establish it as one entity. The meaning of the sign is that these two are simultaneous, so simultaneous perception is realization, and certainty means that realizing one pervades realizing the other. That is, from the point of view of certainty, because simultaneous perception is certain, it is like "blue and the mind of blue are not other." If merely clinging to this is the meaning of non-existence, then would the Sautrāntikas also assert that the object of grasping is non-existent? There is no fault. Although the Sautrāntikas do not consider the appearance of the object to be different from the sense consciousness, they believe that the appearance is given by the external object. Here, however, it is believed that through the power of habituation, knowledge arises as having the aspect of an object. Second, contemplate and meditate: this that appears as an object is, in terms of total exclusion, only the inner mind, and in terms of specific exclusion, there is no external object. Third, like this, if you meditate thinking that it is merely the grasping without the grasped, you will abandon the manifest clinging to the external object, but you have not completely abandoned the manifest clinging to the inner mind as having the aspect of grasping. That is, if the external object does not exist, then clinging to the grasper is meaningless. However, because of the habituation that has continued from beginningless time, a mind with the aspect of an object arises, so there is clinging to grasping it. The second part has three aspects: establishing that grasping is without reality, the way to meditate after realizing it, and the way to abandon grasping thoughts through meditation. First, as the Thirty Verses says: "Because there is no grasped, there is no grasper." Just as there is no grasper if there is no grasped, because these two are mutually dependent, so this must be established. As the Commentary on Valid Cognition says: "Because one of them does not exist, both will be destroyed." Like that. Second, like this, meditate by thinking with certainty that both the grasped and the grasper do not exist. Third, after meditating like this, also eliminate clinging to the nature of the aspect of grasping in the non-dual mind, or clinging to merely grasping. However,
