It is said that this is to show that the objects to be abandoned by the path of seeing of the meditations and formless realms are abandoned by the prior and subsequent wisdoms. And, it accomplishes the meaning of exhausting the limbs. Although one enters the nine successive absorptions, one does not grasp their fruits, but manifests rebirth for the sake of sentient beings. Therefore, it is said that one will not be reborn involuntarily in a higher realm by the power of absorption. The two statements that this is said to be the meaning of exhausting the limbs are not contradictory. Because if the afflictions of that place are exhausted, one will not be reborn there by its power. In the Ornament of Realization, it says: The explanations of the sun-thought for these two final moments are merely quotations from the statements of the noble ones, and are not permissible in one's own system. If so, these paths are practiced from the eighth ground onwards, and in the path of knowledge, the abandonment of the objects to be abandoned by the path of seeing of the three realms by the forbearance of dharma is contradictory to what is taught. Add these words to the end of each one, and the same applies to the ones below. Secondly, the aspects of the object of realizing the origin are four. What are they? The non-virtuous objects to be abandoned by the path of seeing, because they are free from conceptual thought, and because the body and mind are free from the heaviness of being unfit for work, the forbearance of dharma of lightness of body and mind is: The irreversible great bodhisattva possesses the thought of enlightenment, because it is inseparable from the mind of enlightenment, and does not fully grasp the form body. By eliminating conceptual thought with that thought, one does not fully grasp form, etc., when generating lightness of body and mind. Dwelling in a house, etc., whatever method is used to subdue sentient beings, by the power of being skilled in these methods, without attachment to appearances, the knowledge of dharma of a householder who enjoys the qualities of desire is: If one becomes a householder, one will always be unattached to all things. And so on. In the Great Commentary on the Compendium, this is combined with both the former and the latter. Because one sees the faults of attachment to the objects of a house, one does not dwell in a house for one's own benefit, but the subsequent forbearance of always practicing pure conduct in lifetime after lifetime is: He does not fully enjoy the five qualities of desire, but always practices pure conduct without interruption, and no harm arises that would displease others, and so on. Because the mind is not distracted, and one has obtained the perfection of the faculties of faith, etc., therefore, for the noble being who has obtained power over not forgetting the mind of enlightenment, the means of livelihood that are pure by the nature of dharma or self-nature, that is, not taking women into one's power, etc.

The subsequent knowledge is: For the sake of life, one does not seek violent enjoyment, does not perform fierce action mantras, does not perform female intercourse mantras, and does not show or say to become men and women with desires. Thus it is. Because one does not obtain enjoyment through violence, life is pure, and because one does not perform fierce actions or control women, etc., with a mind full of afflictions, one is pure from the body. Because one does not say that performing actions of desire will produce a boy or a girl, one is pure from speech. Furthermore, the opposite of pure living, the five kinds of hypocrisy, etc., are stated in the Ratnavali: "To pretend for the sake of gain and respect is to restrain the senses. To speak softly is to speak first for the sake of gain and respect. To praise the possessions of others is for the sake of what is to be obtained. To measure by gain is for the sake of gain. To openly slander others. Wanting to desire all things through gain. To praise what was previously obtained." Thus it is. The third is: The aspects of the object of realization of the truth of cessation are four. What are they? The Dharma-kshanti of cessation is the abiding in the union of the first attachment to the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and dependent origination, and the abiding in the subsequent union of continuous attachment. By individually blocking the aggregates, etc., and abiding in the realization of emptiness, one does not truly see anything as inferior or superior in any dharma. The meaning of blocking the abiding is that one should not engage in union and subsequent union with them, that is, one should not be attached to those two. Having thus focused the mind, one blocks attachment, that is, one does not abide in the union and subsequent union of the aggregates, and the same applies to the elements, sense bases, and limbs of dependent origination as before. Why is that? Because one abides in emptiness in this way, and does not truly see anything as inferior or superior in any dharma. Thus it is. Because it is shown that by being attached to this, the abiding is blocked, it is different from the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. By union and subsequent union, it is shown that the path of seeing blocks the previous subsequent union with suffering and origin and the subsequent union with cessation and path. Because one knows emptiness, free from inferiority and superiority, in this way without perversion, it is said by the reason of blocking the abiding. This sentence is a wrong translation or the words are incorrect, because this is quoted in the Pramanavarttika.
