Oh. Firstly, according to the general indication, since it is situated in the path of meditation after the sign of the path of seeing, it is the nature of non-retrogression, so it will be explained. Secondly, there are two: incidental and the meaning of the main text. The first has three: the characteristics of the path of meditation, the basis of the characteristics, the path of meditation, and its classification. The first has three, the first: If asked whether to explain the sign of non-retrogression itself? The answer is: the characteristics of the path of meditation are explained. This is unreasonable, if explaining the sign itself is consistent with the general indication. If according to the general indication, the situation is indeed like that, but the reason for temporarily explaining the characteristics is that, in Dharmakirti's treatise "Pramanavarttika": Characteristics and the basis of characteristics, relationship and worldly principles, grasp and summarize them, only then can they be understood, otherwise not. For example, like a staff-holder, if one does not grasp the staff as a characteristic, the mind that grasps the characteristic staff-holder will not arise, because determining the basis of the characteristic depends on determining the characteristic. Secondly: The first verse shows the profound characteristics of the path of meditation, the second shows the profound self-nature, and the third and fourth show the profound reason. When practicing the six perfections of the Great Vehicle, where do you abide, and where do you fully accomplish the four mindfulnesses, and up to the place where you fully accomplish all-knowingness, please clearly indicate these profound and profound places. And, the word "profound" is a special term for emptiness. And so on, and, the suchness of form, there is no form there, even if it is separate from form, there is no suchness, the suchness of form is like that. And so on. Among them, it is said that from the four mindfulnesses to all-knowingness, the reason for the complete practice is that the realization of the path of meditation is completely without omission, the place is its normality, and the profoundness twice indicates that the practice is repeatedly familiarized. The path of seeing is both profound and vast, while the path of meditation is mainly the profound nature that is the antidote to the obscuration of knowledge, so it is very familiar, so it is awakened from quiescence at the eighth ground. The third has three, among them, the profound is shown as the characteristic of the path of meditation: The Mahayana path of meditation is profound, because of emptiness and so on.

Because it possesses the direct realization of the profound. The nature of the profound is: Where are those profound things? They are characterized by emptiness and so on, being signless, wishless, without manifest activity, unborn, unceasing, free from attachment, cessation, peace, suchness, and ultimate reality. The reason for the profound is: Whichever of the eleven qualities such as emptiness is profound, because it is liberated from the extremes of superimposition and denigration. The reason for establishment is: For emptiness and so on, there is no form in the ultimate sense, and emptiness and so on are not different from form either, because what does not exist in the ultimate sense is the nature of form in conventional terms. This itself is the reason, because for non-existence and not being, the opposite of that is superimposition, and for existence and being, the opposite of that is denigration. Moreover, the two are mutually inclusive. Form is just a symbol. The second part has three points, the first is: As before, after explaining the distinguishing qualities of the path of meditation, the basis of the distinction, the nature of the path of meditation itself, is explained. The second point is: It is the path of meditation. Where? With the meaning of hearing, repeatedly thinking with the four kinds of reasoning; with the meaning of thinking, repeatedly measuring with the nine stages of abiding in calm abiding; and with the four kinds of insight, which distinguish these nine meanings, and extremely distinguish, completely understand, and completely observe, repeatedly and definitely understanding. The object of meditation, where? From "certain" to "between," that is, those and the basis of those, emptiness and so on. So, what is the object of the path of meditation? The path of meditation is continuous, so the former is taken as the object by the latter, there is no contradiction, so the following "that is continuous" is quoted and explained here. The third point is: The path of meditation is continuous. Where? With the wisdom arising from hearing, repeatedly thinking, and similarly, the other two should also be applied. The word "or" is selective, or with the wisdom of that time arising from the practice of samadhi, repeatedly thinking, and similarly, the other two should also be applied. On what object does one think and so on? With "certain mudra" and so on, for the meaning that is definitely seen by the three paths of seeing and meditation. In short, in those three, how did one previously experience the object and aspect itself.
