And they are equal in number to those sutras. For the thirty-seven aspects of omniscience, each of the seven categories has one each, so there are seven sutras. For the thirty-four, there is one of the eight liberations. One for the nine meditative stabilizations. One for the path of abandonment. For the other thirteen, there is one each, so there are sixteen. For the thirty-nine, the last three have one each, and the other four categories have one each, so there are seven sutras. Some explain that Rabjor spoke of the knowledge aspects (ཤེས་རྣམ།) and the Thus-Gone One spoke of the meaning aspects (དོན་རྣམ།), but some explain it the other way around. However, both Rabjor and the Thus-Gone One spoke appropriately of both meaning aspects and knowledge aspects. For example, "non-existence" indicates the meaning aspect, and "its perfection" indicates the knowledge aspect, both of which are shown to be expressed by words. Also, "because there is no space" directly indicates the meaning aspect of impermanence, and implicitly indicates the knowledge aspect of realizing its non-existence. Third, for these sutras, the Lord said, "Starting from the aspect of non-existence," etc., and determined that from here to there, the aspects of the ground knowledge, the path knowledge, and omniscience are shown. Although he did not directly determine the aspect of the path knowledge, since the beginning and end were determined for the ground knowledge and omniscience, it was easy to understand that the middle one was the aspect of the path knowledge. Furthermore, for the hundred and ten aspects that were briefly spoken of, the Lord distinguished that the thirty-seven, thirty-four, and thirty-nine aspects are the aspects of the three knowledges. That is the way to distinguish the sutras, and the principle shown here is that the knowledge aspect is shown briefly, and the meaning aspect is mainly explained in detail. As it says in the Sunlight Commentary: "Therefore, based on the four noble truths, it shows how many aspects there are in which truth in the three cases of the knowledge of all things." Therefore, it is said to be the connection of detailed explanation. That is, in the first two knowledges, all four truths are spoken of, and in the last one, only a part of the path truth is spoken of. The reason for speaking of a part of the path truth and its aspects, whether it is the meaning aspect or the knowledge aspect of omniscience, will be explained at that time. Fourth, then, what should be meditated on among these aspects? The previous hundred and three knowledge aspects should be used to cut off the superimposition and defamation of the hundred and three meaning aspects, and then meditate on them, so the meaning aspects

It is said that one should meditate. However, the intention of the scriptures in saying that one should meditate on aspects through application seems to be primarily to meditate on the aspect of knowledge itself. With the distinctions of the wisdom of the three knowledges of the subject, the paths with the characteristics of understanding the distinctions of the Dharma of the four truths of the object in this way, through the two applications of non-abiding application and non-application, the very act of generating the union of skillful means and wisdom is the meaning of meditating on aspects through application. Moreover, in the case of those that exist only in the Buddha's stage and in the continuums of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, generating those paths that are similar to them is designated as meditating and generating them. For example, just as it is said that Bodhisattvas generate the paths of Hearers and Solitary Realizers. Therefore, in this context, whether the aspects are shown from the perspective of the different bases of the Great and Small Vehicles and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, or from the perspective of the object or the subject, it is intended to represent the target aspect of a particular wisdom that realizes the three bases, paths, and fruits as unborn in the continuum of the Bodhisattva, and therefore it is said that the objects and aspects of the wisdom functions of the three knowledges are like this and that. When the target aspect to be generated is known, it is said that the aspect is the object, considering that it is generated in the continuum as before by application. Thus, just as it is said to meditate on selflessness and compassion, of the two, meditating on the object and familiarizing the mind with the nature of the subject, the latter is mainly taken here. The second is the meaning of the limb of the aspect, that is, expanding the section of the aspect combined with the text and explaining the aspect of the base knowledge. The second part has two parts: connection and explanation of meaning. The first is: the aspects are generally shown without distinguishing the three knowledges separately, and now they are distinguished and explained specifically. The second part has three parts: explaining in detail the aspects of base knowledge, path knowledge, and omniscient knowledge. The first part has four parts: connection, display, explanation, and summarizing the meaning. The first is: when showing the aspects of the three knowledges, it is temporarily said with the aspect of the knowledge of all things as the main focus. This is present in the preceding and following explanations, but it is taken as a connection, because in Nyisnang this is made as a connection, and the teacher also arranged it that way, and also in Gyen Snang it is made as a connection.
