Because of the absence of virtuous friends who show that all phenomena are without inherent existence, and because of the lack of such companions and skill in the means of accomplishing enlightenment. "Virtuous friends, etc.," as stated in the Ornament of Realization. Second, this Prajnaparamita is very close to those Bodhisattvas, because for Bodhisattvas, when fully understanding phenomena such as form, there exists the full understanding of that realm's equality, free from elaboration, therefore. The reason is established, because the signs of delusion that cling to form, etc., as truly existent things are eliminated, that is, because they realize that they are unobtainable. The pervasion exists, like the illusionist, etc., combine in reverse from before. In the Lamp of Wisdom, the former is explained with the example of a magician clinging to the truth, and the latter with the example of an illusionist knowing it to be false. The latter reason is established, because from a long time, countless eons, the outer condition of the Great Vehicle virtuous friend has correctly pleased him, possessing the undeluded oral instructions, that is, possessing, and the inner condition is skillful in the means of generating the wisdom of thinking and meditating based on the two truths of conventional and ultimate. In short, the meaning of these two answers is: although the object is free from elaboration, because the mind has the difference of realizing and not realizing freedom from elaboration, therefore the difference of near and far is established. Third, method, etc., that is, explaining the meaning of being distant because it is not a method, etc. The way these two are derived from the sutras is: the former is from the perspective of showing the faults and benefits of clinging to and not clinging to the previously stated object. Second, what is it that the Hearers and Solitary Realizers want to realize as the absence of inherent existence of phenomena here? Although it is said that some Madhyamikas think so, it does not seem that those Madhyamikas who think so have listed such reasons to establish it. Do Hearers and Solitary Realizers also want to realize the selflessness of phenomena? There are two aspects to this: how it is proclaimed in the sutras, and how it is explained in the treatises. The first is divided into two: the way of not realizing the selflessness of phenomena is proclaimed in many sutras such as the Nirvana Sutra, the Jewel Garland Sutra, the Lankavatara Sutra, and the Samdhinirmocana Sutra, because this is very famous, the source is not written. Second, the absence of inherent existence of phenomena

As it is said for understanding, in the Dashabhumika Sutra it says: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, just as a prince born into a royal family, possessing the title of a king, merely by being born, overwhelms all the ministers with the majesty of the king, but not by discriminating with his own intelligence. When he grows up, by increasing his own intelligence, he far surpasses all the affairs of the ministers. O sons of the Victorious Ones, similarly, a Bodhisattva, as soon as he generates the mind of enlightenment, overwhelms all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas with the greatness of his superior intention, but not by discriminating with his own intelligence. A Bodhisattva abiding in the seventh Bodhisattva ground, abiding in the greatness of the wisdom of his own realm, far surpasses all the affairs of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas." Moreover, it is also said in the Prajnaparamita that even if one wants to study in the Shravaka ground, one should study the Prajnaparamita, and so on. Therefore, the first point is that until one has attained the seventh ground, one cannot overwhelm the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas through understanding, so the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have an understanding of no self-nature. Otherwise, why can't they overwhelm them? The second point also shows that the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have an understanding of the non-self-nature of phenomena. Because the Prajnaparamita itself is said to be the cause of the enlightenment of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and one should not deviate from the Prajnaparamita regardless of whether one clings to permanence or impermanence, self or no-self. It is said in the Prajnaparamita that the wisdom of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas cannot even match one-hundredth of a Bodhisattva's one-day practice, so it cannot harm them. The reason for this is that it shows the difference in the generation of the mind, not the difference in wisdom. It is also said in the Sutra taught by the Shravakas: "Form is like a mass of foam, feeling is like a bubble on water, perception is like a mirage, formations are like a plantain tree, and consciousness is like an illusion. The Kinsman of the Sun spoke these words." This was taught for the Shravakas to abandon the afflictive obscurations. The second part is divided into two parts: the first is the Sutra, and the second is following the Sutra. The first is, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: "Beings who have abandoned the generation of the mind are very likely to lose the mind of benefiting others and the means to it, as well as the meaning of the great intention and the supreme view of suchness."
