The excessive part should be abandoned. In order to cultivate light as the basis for realizing the path, and by teaching in this way, it will be understood that one must abandon arrogance when generating the path of realization. Therefore, the greatness of light is used as a metaphor to explain the basis of the path of realization. How is it explained? Through the implication of words, that is, indirectly. The second part has three aspects, like the root. The first part has two aspects. The first aspect is: the path of realization is the object of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, that is, the bases are determined separately, because it only arises in the continuum of Bodhisattvas, and does not arise in the continuum of Hearers and Solitary Realizers. The reason for this is that it only arises in those who have generated the supreme Bodhicitta, which has the essence of emptiness and compassion. Universally, if Bodhicitta is not generated there, there is no fortune to abide in the mother of the path of realization. Moreover, not only must arrogance be destroyed, but Bodhicitta must also be generated. The second aspect is: through the path of the inner teachings, the Arhats of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, who are free from attachment to the three realms, and the yogis of the outer paths on the other hand, have already become Buddhas. All beings ultimately reach the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, that is, all sentient beings are like that, therefore. Moreover, it is not only the former who practice. In the "Clear Words" it is said: The noble Hearers and Solitary Realizers who are free from attachment arise from the realm of peace. On the other hand, Bodhisattvas do so from the present moment. Although it is said that these two persons practice from those times, there is no doubt about Bodhisattvas, and the point of "all beings" is that if it is said as before, that is the intention of the author. If the great Hearers and Solitary Realizers enter the Great Vehicle, does it contradict the statement that the three vehicles are different? The establishment of the three different vehicles of Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and the Great Vehicle is intentional and provisional, not definitive with its own characteristics, which arises from reasoning. There is no fault. From which reasoning does it arise? In the "White Lotus Sutra" it is said: In the future, Shariputra, you will also become a Tathagata, named Lotus Light, with all eyes, subduing hundreds of thousands of millions of beings. It also says: The vehicle is one, there is no second. And in the "Lankavatara Sutra" it also says: Great Wisdom, the practitioners of the Hearer Vehicle are not liberated by the Hearer Vehicle.

However, these are the ultimate goals of the Mahayana. There are three aspects to the analysis of the end: the views on the provisional and ultimate of the three vehicles; from where do the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas enter the Mahayana; and whether or not samsara has an end. The first point has two aspects: the ultimate view and the provisional view. The first point has two aspects: the sutras that are followed, and how their meaning is explained. The first point is, in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra, it says: "Beings of the Shravaka lineage, who only pursue peace, even if all the Buddhas strive, they cannot be placed in the essence of Bodhi, so that they attain the unsurpassed, perfect Bodhi. Why is that? Because they are extremely lacking in compassion, extremely afraid of suffering, and are inherently inferior lineages." Furthermore, "Whoever is a Shravaka who transforms into Bodhi, I say that is a nominal Bodhisattva. Because after they are liberated from the obscurations of afflictions, if they are urged by the Tathagatas, they will liberate their minds from the obscurations of knowledge." Therefore, the sutra says that the two, pursuing peace and completely transforming, are impossible to transform into the Mahayana and possible to transform, and that the one vehicle and the three vehicles are provisional and ultimate meanings. And it is explained that this follows the sutras such as the Dasadharmaka Sutra and the Ratnamegha Sutra. The second point has three aspects: establishing one's own view, eliminating contradictions within it, and eliminating contradictions with other sutras. The first point is, in the Compendium, it says: "Does a Shravaka who transforms into Bodhi abide in the realm of Nirvana with remainder and cultivate unsurpassed, perfect, complete Bodhi? Or does he abide in the realm of Nirvana without remainder and cultivate it?" It is answered: "He abides in the realm of Nirvana with remainder and cultivates it. Because abiding in the realm of Nirvana without remainder, all actions and all efforts are interrupted." Therefore, the way of not regressing from Nirvana with remainder and regressing from Nirvana without remainder is to cultivate Bodhi by extending life through the power of magical abilities, and blessing one's own body not to enter Nirvana, as well as emanations.
