Moreover, just as after driving out a thief, the door is securely bolted, the two liberation paths that arise after the opposing factors have been abandoned are born. That is, the arising of the antidote and the cessation of the opposing factors occur simultaneously. If it is simultaneous, then it should not be two paths. The answer is that the arising of the antidote and the cessation of what is to be abandoned are shown to be simultaneous, but those two themselves are not two paths. Pointing to arising is the future, and the actual uninterrupted path is the present, because the ability to abandon what is to be abandoned actually takes effect. Pointing to the cessation of what is to be abandoned is also the abandoned itself, so it is not the path of liberation. Therefore, the uninterrupted path of arising antidote and the liberation path of what has been abandoned are, in order, the antidote and abandonment. Driving out the thief and bolting the door are metaphors for abandoning what is to be abandoned on the two paths, but it is not reasonable to arrange those two as metaphors for simultaneity. As the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge says, "Like driving out a thief and closing the door with two." In this way, the uninterrupted path and the path of liberation explain how to abandon what is to be abandoned, and this teacher also created it in this way. Therefore, it is not reasonable for previous teachers to prevent the abandonment from being regarded as the path of liberation, and to explain it on the part of what has been abandoned, because it is unconditioned and should not be established as a dependent dharma. After that arises, the cultivation of abandoning the cognitive obscurations of conceptual thought, which is attached to the arising of the antidote and the cessation of what is to be abandoned, arises. What means are used to abandon it? It is because they realize that what is to be abandoned and the antidote are not targeted, but are directly realized. After that arises, the wisdom of realizing that there is no inherent nature of the characteristics of non-abiding, clinging to abandoning and taking in order in samsara and nirvana, and the cultivation of the means of great compassion arise. The constant cause is the power of skill in the means of cultivating the perfections of making aspirations and giving in the past. After that arises, the two dharmas of means and wisdom, which are uncommon to the Hearers and the Solitary Buddhas and ordinary beings, arise. What means are used to generate it? It is because the cultivation of non-abiding in samsara and nirvana arises. After that arises, the nature of placing sentient beings on the path of the three vehicles according to their respective thoughts, and accomplishing the benefit of others in order.

That will arise. By what method is it established? By considering flexibility in introducing, etc., through the remaining three flexible considerations and the four considerations. There are three points to examine at the end here: the nature of considering flexible consideration, the difference between the two, and the consideration of what the definite number is. The first point has two parts: consideration and flexible consideration. The first point is, as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Equality and different meaning, likewise different time, and the intention of beings, know that there are four kinds of consideration." As such, of the four, the consideration of equality is, "I myself became the fully enlightened Buddha Vipashyin at that time," as it is said, which is the equality of the Dharmakaya. The consideration of different meaning is, "All phenomena are without self-nature, unborn," etc., as it is said, which is not the literal meaning. The consideration of different time is, "Those who pray to be born in Sukhavati, they will be born there," as it is said, although they are not born immediately after death, but it is considered to be at a different time. The consideration of the intention of beings is, praising certain roots of virtue, and criticizing those who are content with little, etc. The second point is, as stated in the Ornament: "Introducing flexible consideration and, the nature of flexible consideration is different, the antidote of flexible consideration and, the transformation of flexible consideration." As such, of the four, the first is, in order to guide the Shravakas into the Dharma, to dispel fear, it is taught that form, etc., exists. The second is, considering the three natures, it is taught that all phenomena are without self-nature, etc., that is, in the Thirty Verses it is said: "Self-nature is divided into three, in the three without self-nature, considering all phenomena, it is said to be without self-nature." The meaning is, because the completely imputed is not substantially existent, it is self-nature; because the dependent arising does not arise from itself, but arises from others, it is arising; because the perfectly established is the meaning or object of non-conceptual wisdom, and is not separate from the dependent arising, therefore, considering the ultimate without self-nature, it is said to be without self-nature. The third is, as stated in the Ornament: "Disparaging the Buddha's Dharma and, laziness, a little contentment, and, arrogance, attachment to objects, and, regret and uncertain turning away are, sentient beings
