Raro! Therefore, it seems that there will be many sanghas who are neither sudden nor gradual. The second (fruit) has four types: Stream-enterer, Once-returner, Non-returner, and Arhat. The first, the Stream-enterer, has two types: the enterer and the dweller. The first is: a Hearer who abides from the heat stage to the post-acceptance of the path, who has not abandoned the six categories of afflictions of the desire realm. This can be divided into two types: one who has not abandoned even one object to be abandoned by meditation before the path of seeing; and one who has abandoned any one from one to five objects to be abandoned. For the boundary of the first, the Abhidharmasamuccaya considers it to start from the path of joining. As it says: "What is entering the fruit of Stream-enterer? It is the person who abides in the fifteen moments of the mind of the path of seeing, which is in accordance with the part of definite distinction." To this, the commentator considers it to be the path of joining that can generate the path of seeing on one seat. As it says: "In accordance with the part of definite distinction, starting from one seat, until the first fruit is not obtained." The Vaibhashikas consider the boundary of the first fruit to start from the acceptance of the Dharma of suffering. The Abhidharmakosha says: "These fifteen moments, unseen for seeing, the path of seeing. Sharp and dull faculties, those, followers of faith and Dharma. If the object to be abandoned by meditation is not abandoned, entering the first fruit. Destroying between five categories." The second is: a Hearer who has obtained the sixteenth moment on top of having the previously abandoned afflictions. Its distinction has two types: according to one's wish, there are those who return seven times, and those who are born from one class to another. The first is: some consider it to be merely abiding in the fruit. However, the commentary and explanation do not mention that other than merely not abandoning one object to be abandoned by meditation, there is no effort to abandon (afflictions). This also has three distinctions: the distinction of realization, the distinction of abandonment, and the distinction of birth. The first is: abiding in the fruit of Stream-enterer. The second is: not abandoning one object to be abandoned by meditation in the desire realm. The third is: taking seven births in the desire realm. Thus it is said: "Abiding in the fruit, objects to be abandoned by meditation are not exhausted. If one clings to it in this way, there are seven returns." The self-explanation here says: abiding in the fruit, not abandoning even one affliction that should be abandoned by meditation, this is the Stream-enterer, because one will be born seven times, so it is seven returns. Not everything is like this, so according to one's wish.

"Thus extreme" is called the worst of all. Moreover, in the meantime, one can also directly realize the noble path and not completely pass into nirvana, so as to increase the power of karma to experience existence at that time. So it is said. If that is a human race. The self-commentary says: Those who move upward should be regarded as being able to completely pass into nirvana in the meantime. The ultimate limit of Akanistha and the peak of existence is because there is no further migration, just like a stream-enterer to the extreme, like the seven rebirths. Thus, the name "thus extreme" also seems to hold the birth of the boundary, and it is not certain to take or give up until then. In general, the stream-enterer is so extreme that there are seven rebirths, from one birth to seven births, so it is not certain to be seven. However, at the time of the fruit position and cultivation, what is said here is the difference between those who are determined to take seven rebirths, so it is given a general name, and thinking about it, it is determined that the birth of the seven rebirths is so extreme. The self-commentary says: There are other seven rebirths to the extreme, but they are not said because they are uncertain. It is said that there are other seven rebirths, but they are not said because they are uncertain. Here it is said that seven are determined to be taken. The way of taking and giving up birth, if one obtains the stream-entry fruit in the human body, then one takes six times in the human world and seven times in the heavens, and finally is born in the human world and passes away. If one obtains the fruit in the heavenly body, one also takes six times in the heavens and seven times in the human world, and finally passes away in the heavenly body. In this way, the birth of gods and humans is fourteen, and the intermediate state is fourteen, a total of twenty-eight, but because the units of seven are the same, it is called seven rebirths, like a monk who is proficient in the seven places and a seven-leaf tree. In short, for the gradual stream-enterer who has not abandoned a single cultivation abandonment, wanting to take two births is the general term for the seven rebirths that are so extreme, and the difference between the seven rebirths has been described. This is also for the first author, if one abandons one affliction and takes one life, then the nature is destroyed. The second is that it has three differences, that is, abandoning the three or four afflictions of the desire realm, but not abandoning the fifth abandonment, and the antidote to it, obtaining the realization of the unwholesome root, and the gods of the desire realm.
