In the Compendium, the nature of the six superknowledges is explained as wisdom and samadhi. The two, eye and ear, are senses, and the remaining four rely on mind. Third, in the Destruction of Harm in the Hundred Thousand Verses, it says, "The superknowledges of worldly people, hearers, and solitary realizers are merely knowing the minds, etc., of those who are equal to or lower than themselves, but the superknowledges of completely pure bodhisattvas have no obstruction in knowing the powers, etc., of the Buddhas, Bhagavat, etc., of higher grounds." Fourth, the first five superknowledges are also common with non-Buddhists, and the great accumulation path of the Great Vehicle has them as appropriate. As it says in the Intent of the Sage, according to what is appropriate, in the stages of the accumulation ground and higher and higher, the five eyes are obtained separately by the distinctions of excellent and most excellent, etc., and also the six superknowledges. In general, hearers and solitary realizers also have this characteristic, but the commentary says that this is used to exhaust the outflows of both obscurations. However, it is said in the Pure Possession that this exists from the eighth ground. As it says, "If asked, how do the Buddha's eye and the sixth superknowledge exist in a bodhisattva? The eighth ground of a bodhisattva obtains both of these, and on the ground of a Buddha, both of these are completely perfect, completely pure, and completely ultimate." Fifth, it is to place beings in the equality of dharma, and all noble beings have loving-kindness, and to meet with pleasing objects, and to be worthy of worship by the gods, and to obtain prophecy, these are the meanings of the sutra spoken by the noble one. Second, it teaches that, nominally, the six superknowledges with objects related to those six objects are generated in the continuum, and ultimately, one realizes and cultivates those that are peaceful by nature, free from elaboration from the beginning. Fourth has two, giving instructions on the path of seeing and the path of meditation. First, it is teaching. The object spoken of is the path of seeing. The method is to cultivate the nature of the sixteen moments of the path of seeing. With what does one cultivate? With the yoga of calm abiding and insight that exists in the continuum.

Yogis act with a body free from attachment, having realized that all phenomena lack true essence. For what purpose? It is because the path of seeing (Darshanmarga) is the antidote to what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing (Darshanaheyas). What is an example of non-attachment? It is like a magician having no attachment to the illusion he himself conjures. How does it transform into sixteen moments? Because the path of seeing is encompassed by the Four Noble Truths, each truth having four aspects: Dharma-kshanti (patience with the dharma), Dharma-jnana (knowledge of the dharma), Anvaya-kshanti (patience with the subsequent), and Anvaya-jnana (knowledge of the subsequent). As stated in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: 'Subhuti, you should begin with the mother of all Buddhas, and as the Buddhas arise with certainty in the realm, so should you arise with courage.' Furthermore, Shariputra said to Subhuti: 'The mother explained to the Buddhas is not the realm of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas.' The Blessed One thus instructed Subhuti. Merely dispelling the doubts of beings is no different from the way the Eight Thousand Verse and Twenty Thousand Verse Sutras are combined in the context of the path of seeing. Then, each verse is applied to each of the sixteen moments. Secondly, it is the explanation. What is to be expressed? It is the path of meditation (Bhavanamarga). The method is: the Mahayana path of meditation is practiced as the antidote to what is to be abandoned by the path of meditation (Bhavanaheyas), thus showing this method. So, if the path of seeing and the path of meditation must be practiced as antidotes to different things to be abandoned, then is there also a difference in the realization of how these two realize the nature of reality? Answer: If the nature of the path of meditation is established in a way that does not correspond to the way the path of seeing realizes the nature of reality, then that would be a mere imputation of non-existence. Because there is no difference between the path of seeing and the path of meditation in how they realize the nature of reality. As previously stated, the object directly realized by the path of seeing, which is the single nature of reality that is no different from the nature of reality, is the same object that the path of meditation familiarizes itself with. For example, the conditioned truth of the path and the unconditioned truth of cessation are of the same essence, not different, and therefore they do not depend on each other and cannot be established as different.' This analogy is a congruent example of the previous pervasion. Alternatively, this example comes from the Sutra, as it says in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: 'Subhuti, without the realm of the conditioned, there is no realm of the unconditioned.'
