The sect that says "the world is not a valid means of knowledge" shows that this sect does not acknowledge valid means of knowledge at all. Saying that this sect is not correct, and some people saying that this sect is good, both of these statements are made without understanding the view of this teacher. It is merely showing one's own view. Because when showing that the appearance of the world itself is not a valid means of knowledge in all cases, it is generally understood as not acknowledging valid means of knowledge. Regarding valid means of knowledge and the knowable, one should also, as stated in the Clear Words, negate establishment by its own nature, and then do as it says to establish dependent valid means of knowledge and the knowable, which will be explained below. Fifth, how can one be harmed by the world? The meaning that is famous and established from the world itself is that if it is eliminated merely by the fame of the world, then that person will be harmed by the world. For example, some people say that my things have been robbed, and another person asks him what that thing is? He says it is a vase. The other person says that the vase is not a thing, because it is the knowable, just like a vase in a dream. Such refutations and so on, the realm of such things, will be harmed by the world. When relying on the noble's view of ultimate truth, taking those who are skilled in ultimate truth as valid means of knowledge, and thereby firmly establishing suchness, there will be no harm from the world. The teacher said that the wise should analyze other situations in this way. For example, I say that I am the owner of the vase, and Devadatta is not the robber, and so on. Or, what has grown on my field, when asked what has grown, the answer is a sprout. Then say that the sprout is not born, because it is the knowable, just like a person and a sprout in a dream. Now, for those who consider themselves to be great Madhyamika reasoners, the harm of the world is shown. Second, in this way, in the face of the world's fame, even if one admits other-birth, one avoids the harm of the world. Now, because there is no other-birth in the world's appearance, even if one abides in the world's view, one wants to refute other-birth, and for this situation, there is no harm from the world. In order to show this, it is said, for what reason do worldly people

When a father shows something, he says, "This child was born from me." Even when doing so, this father does not take out something with male genitalia from his own body and put it into the mother's womb of that child. What is it then? It is just that he puts the impure substance that is the seed of that child's body into the mother's womb, that is, pours it in. Because this father pours in the cause of that child's body and then shows it as his own child, therefore, the seed and the child, both are not considered as other entities established by their own nature. This is clearly certain in the world. Therefore, regarding the impure substance of the seed and the child, and the seed of barley and the sprout, etc., there is no perception of arising from other in the world. If it is considered as other entities established by their own nature, then like treating other people, showing that child, one would not say, "This was born from me." Similarly, just planting the seed of a tree, and then a tree grows from it, thinking, "This tree was planted by me," then, there is no arising from other in the world, etc., apply as before. Even though the planted seeds are not the tree and the child, but relying on planting those two, when the tree and the child are born, showing those two, one can say, "This was born from me," just as the hand that is sick and healed is not that person, but relying on the hand being sick and healed, one can say that the person is sick and healed. Thus, even though there is no arising from other in worldly conventions, the worldly perception cannot prevent the existence of arising from other, because to prevent the difference in nature of cause and effect, one must rely on the reasoning that examines reality. Therefore, the meaning of other proponents of tenets admitting arising from other is that it is arising from other established by its own nature, and not just that the entity becomes other, and just that is not established in the world either. The meaning of "Arising from other, there is none in the world" is that the world is self-satisfied, and for the proximate cause and effect of earth, sprouts, etc., there is no perception of other established by its own nature, not only that, but also one should know that in conventions, it is also shown that there is no arising from other, this is to prevent the explanation of arising from both.

It is also like that. Just as it was previously stated that arising from self and other is not reasonable in both conventional and ultimate truth, similarly, for those who speak of two important words, it is impossible with the reasoning as previously stated. Thus, it is clearly stated that there is no other-arising even in name. In the Lucid Words, it is also said: If things do not arise from self, other, both, and without cause, then how did the Blessed One say, "Conditioned by ignorance, there are formations"? As an answer to this question, it will be said: This is conventional truth, not ultimate truth. Thus, ignorance giving rise to formations, etc., is conventional truth, not ultimate truth. Should the way of establishing conventional truth be stated? As an answer: It is admitted that conventional truth is established by this condition alone, but not through admitting the four extremes. Thus, even in conventionally admitting that this arises dependent on this condition, it is clearly stated that the arising of the four extremes is not admitted. Therefore, saying that this system does not negate other-arising in conventional truth is a statement that has not well understood this system. Third, therefore, just as it was previously stated that things do not inherently exist, it is explained in order to show the qualities of not falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation by establishing dependent arising as not permanent or annihilated. If a sprout is other than the seed, established by its own nature, then the seed and sprout cannot be cause and effect, therefore, without doubt, even if there is a sprout, the seed will be cut off. Because then the seed and sprout become unrelated, and even if there is a sprout, it does not help the seed lineage from not being cut off. For example, even if there is a cow, it does not help the lineage from not being cut off after the bull dies. And just as even if there is a pratyekabuddha, it does not help the noble ones from cutting off samsara in their own lifetime. If that is the case, then for what reason is it that in the aspect where the sprout is not other than the seed, established by its own nature, those two do not contradict cause and effect, therefore, when there is a sprout, the seed is destroyed, that is, because its lineage is cut off, it abandons the extreme of annihilation. It has been repeatedly stated that the seed ceases at the time of the sprout.
