That is to be understood by each of them individually. Thus it was said. The word "itself" in "is itself" is a definitive holding. What it cuts off is that the ultimate truth of other noble ones is not like the alternating establishment of appearing as non-existent in meditative equipoise and appearing as existent in post-meditation, but rather it is said to be the dharmata that is constantly abiding equally in its own nature. Furthermore, etc., means that in order to show that the truth of the ultimate truth is not truly established, it is explained that what exists without deception in the presence of those who see reality is the meaning of truth. Secondly, there are two parts: explaining the meaning of the root text, and refuting the arguments against it. First, that is because it is intended to show the ultimate truth, because the ultimate truth cannot be expressed by words, and because it is not the object of the consciousness that follows that word. Because it cannot be directly shown, in order to clearly explain its nature to those who want to hear, an example of what ordinary people experience themselves is given. The meaning of what is said to be not the object of consciousness and speech is as it is said that it cannot be directly shown. That also appears in the translation of Naktsang as "cannot be clearly shown." Its meaning is explained in the commentary Clear Words, which explains that the meaning of reality is not to be understood from others: Just as when those with cataracts see the nature of hair, etc., in a reversed way, even if those without cataracts have pointed it out, they cannot realize what is to be realized as it is, just as those without cataracts do not see the nature of hair, etc., themselves. Although it is said to those with cataracts that there is no hair by those without cataracts, those without cataracts do not realize that there is no hair as seen by those without cataracts, so even if the listener does not realize it in that way, it is not that they do not realize that there is no hair. Taking that as an example, when reality is shown, even if one does not realize something that looks like it is seen by being free from the delusion of the cataract of ignorance, it is considered that one does not generally not realize reality. Therefore, the ultimate truth is not the definitive sutra with profound meaning, nor is it that words cannot express it in that way, nor is it that the wisdom that follows it cannot realize it.

Hey! All statements about the meaning of Suchness, saying that it is not a category that can be expressed by knowledge and words, should be understood in the same way. Due to the power of the delusion of cataracts, when a person with cataracts sees hairs and bees, etc., in their own hands, in coral and other eating utensils, if they carefully observe the hairs and bees, etc., their essence is inverted. Wanting to eliminate it, one will find that repeatedly shaking that vessel is futile. When a person with clear eyes and without cataracts goes to him, even if he directs his eyes to the place where the essence of the hairs, etc., appears, he cannot recognize the shape of the hairs, and he will not speculate about the basis of the hairs, that is, any special qualities. Also, when a person with cataracts says to a person without cataracts, "I see hairs," wanting to eliminate the conceptualization of the person with cataracts, he does so in front of him, emphatically saying that there are no hairs here, making a negation, but the speaker is not slandering the hairs. The Suchness of the hairs seen by the person with cataracts is what is seen by the person without cataracts, not what is seen by the person with cataracts. Please understand the situation of the meaning here like these two metaphors. The method of understanding is: due to the harm caused by the cataracts of ignorance, that is, due to the mind being obscured, those who have not seen Suchness, the self-nature of the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., that they cling to, is the conventional truth of the aggregates, etc., just like a person with cataracts seeing hairs. Those who have not seen the aggregates, etc., themselves, and thus cling to those things, and those Buddhas who are free from the habits of ignorance and the obscurations of knowledge, just like eyes without cataracts do not see hairs, the place where the Buddhas see the self-nature of the aggregates, etc., is the ultimate truth of those Buddhas. The second point is: if, like eyes without cataracts cannot even see the appearance of hairs, the Buddhas do not see the conventional truths of the aggregates, etc., that appear in the mind obscured by ignorance, then they would not exist, and if they did exist, the Buddhas should be able to see them. The conventional truths of the aggregates, etc.
