This is the meaning that there is no contradiction with the accepted tenet, which is the meaning of the first reason. Aryadeva also said that rebirth is meaningless, mentioning the word "also." The Prasannapada also mentioned the word "also." Here it says, if one again completely clings to being reborn, then there is contradiction with existence, but there is no contradiction between existence and birth. Similarly, there is contradiction between existence and rebirth with contact, but there is no contradiction between existence and birth with contact. The meaning of the second reason is that the Madhyamaka school, which speaks of no self-nature, when applying the aforementioned two faults to the Samkhya school, which speaks of self-nature, does not want to commit to applying refutation to itself, and even if there is no refutation, it is not involuntary, so it does not commit to the refutation of the two faults. The meaning of the third reason is that although the meaning of refuting the faults of the two faults cannot establish the non-self birth with the reason of rebirth being meaningful and having contact, it is not without necessity, because it establishes the birth without meaning and without contact that the Samkhya does not want, and because it establishes only the determination of birth from the self that the Samkhya has committed to, so it is the meaning of being necessary. For the two extreme faults, the refutation of the faults is committed to by oneself, so one should know the two, whether one commits to the meaning of refuting the faults or not. Second, divided into two: the answer to dispel faults, and the refutation of that answer. The first is, here it says that the two, cause and effect, also have otherness established by their own nature, and it is not that everything arises from everything, because one sees that cause and effect are determined separately. This is because, for whatever reason, whatever thing can be done by whatever, that itself is definitely said to be its result, therefore the result is determined. Therefore, this does not agree with the commentary. Whatever cause can produce that effect, although that is otherness established by its own nature, it is a cause, therefore the cause is determined. Thus, only with the difference of other, it is established as cause and effect, not only with the general otherness of otherness, it is established as cause and effect. Also, the rice sprout arises from the rice seed that belongs to itself and the same lineage, not from a different lineage.

Seeds and the like do not arise. Even if they are of the same series, they are not producers, because the later moment does not produce the earlier moment. Because the earlier moment of the same series produces the later moment, that is why there is production. If it is said that, like the rice sprout not arising from barley etc. to produce barley sprouts etc., it is not produced in that way, so everything does not arise from everything. The second case is, the rice seed and seedling are each determined, what is the reason for this? Those who say that cause and effect are established by their own nature should be asked. If they say, because certainty is seen. Then, why is certainty seen in that way? After refuting and examining in this way, because certainty is seen, therefore certainty is seen, merely saying this cannot avoid the fault of not pointing out the cause of certainty that has already been said. It is said that, even if it is other by its own nature, the reason why seeing certainty is not contradictory has not been pointed out, so it is not an answer to avoid faults. Furthermore, the otherness established by its own nature is common to whether cause and effect are established or not, and this very famous reason that has not been completely distinguished is harmful to the opponent's view. For example, the stamens and pistils of barley and lotus etc., and the flowers of cercis chinensis etc., because they are other, are not considered to be produced by the rice sprout, nor do they have the ability to produce the rice sprout, nor do they belong to the same series, nor are they the predecessors of the same kind. Similarly, the rice seed also does not possess the four differences relative to that rice sprout, because it is otherness established by its own nature. This is also the reason why it is impossible to establish whether there are four differences in unrelated other things. Second, there are two types: refuting other-arising for the case of cause and effect arising sequentially; refuting other-arising for the case of cause and effect arising simultaneously. The first case is divided into two: the actual meaning and refuting the debate against refutation. First, like this, temporarily for the other that is praised by outsiders as being established by its own nature, after stating it as if it were established, it is refuted. This is to say that, for the two of cause and effect, the other that is established by its own nature cannot exist. Here there are Maitreya and Nearsown four.
