Because you admit that the earth and the consciousness of previously experienced objects are other entities established by their own nature. Thus, the self-awareness of loving-kindness and the experience of objects are like not being remembered by the alaya consciousness because they have not been previously experienced. Because it is another entity established by its own nature, just as it is born in a continuum that was previously unknown, that is, unexperienced. Even if a consciousness belonging to one's own continuum arises later, it will not remember the consciousness and things, because it has not been experienced. If you think that because the cause and effect entities exist in all that belong to one continuum, there will be remembrance, that is also unreasonable, because this reason, "because it is other by its own characteristic," will also destroy the distinctions such as belonging to one continuum and cause and effect. This has already been extensively explained earlier in the context of "loving-kindness relies on alaya." The second aspect has two parts: the system explained from this treatise itself, and the system explained from other treatises. The first is: If, according to your view that does not accept self-awareness, how does remembrance arise? Because the previous consciousness by which the object was experienced, and this consciousness of remembrance, are other by their own characteristics, it has already been said how this does not exist in my system. Like the cause and effect of the proximate cause of earth and sprouts, holding it as another entity established by its own nature, this is also not present in the self-satisfied minds of the world, as has been said before. Therefore, for the cause and effect of the previous object experience and the later remembrance, the innate intelligence of worldly people does not hold it as another entity established by its own nature. Not only that, but when the object seen by the previous blue-perceiving consciousness is later remembered, one says, "I have seen this before." Therefore, it is clear that the worldly self-satisfied do not hold the experience and remembrance, and the objects of that time, as separate entities in name. If it were not so, then one's own remembrance would arise for the experience of another continuum. Therefore, what was previously experienced and determined by the consciousness of object experience is not unexperienced and undetermined by the consciousness of remembrance later, so the remembrance arises, "I have seen this before."

And it changes. This is also the custom of worldly terms. It is not enough to simply establish terms, but one should not establish them by examining them in the manner of seeking the meaning of what is established. Because seeking the meaning of what is established cannot be found, it is a worldly term with a false meaning. In the self-commentary, under the prohibition of self-awareness and memory established by the self-characteristic of matter, it says: However, if it is under the control of worldly terms, even so, memory with self-awareness as its cause is impossible. Thus, not only in the ultimate sense but also in terms, self-awareness is prohibited. Without self-awareness, how memory arises will be shown in that way. It is said that even without self-awareness, the way memory arises from experience is shown here. In this regard, the memory of thinking "I saw it" is the memory of the subject, and the memory of thinking "I saw this blue thing, etc." is the memory of the object. Moreover, the fact that I remember what I saw before is a special way of remembering. If memory arises in this way, then the consciousness of the subject who saw Maitreya (Maitreya Buddha) etc. before clearly experiences himself. Because memory follows the way experience arises, I think so. The self-school is that although it admits the way memory appears in the world, the way memory arises is not caused by the consciousness of experiencing the object before, that he himself knows himself, but the object determined by the previous experience, and the object determined by memory is the same. For this reason, the memory arises that "I have seen this Maitreya (Maitreya Buddha) before." Therefore, the term "I saw it myself, I remember it myself" is also admitted by oneself. Even if that is admitted, it is different from the prohibited self-awareness, and it should be understood by relying on this. In other schools, the experience of memory and the object at that time are established as other entities established by their own characteristics. Although the two experiences of memory are the same object, and the two intend to be the same continuum, they cannot be established there, and much has been said before. Although it is said that "this Maitreya (Maitreya Buddha)", the Maitreya (Maitreya Buddha) distinguished by the time when that word is spoken and the place where it exists at that time is not considered to have been seen before, but only the Maitreya (Maitreya Buddha) is grasped, which can be known by looking at one's own mind. Second, without self-awareness, memory arises
