That which never changes even slightly at any time, that which no thing can benefit or harm, that which is unconditioned, that which is not established as the nature of things is needed. However, such dependent arising is impossible. Therefore, there is no other way to establish it other than the dependent arising of Dharma nature. The noble Nagarjuna also said: Apart from dependent arising, There are no other dharmas, Therefore, apart from emptiness, There are no other dharmas. And: Whatever is dependent arising, Is said to be emptiness. That is what is designated dependently, That itself is the Middle Way. As it says in the sutra, just as relying on wood and strings, And the combination of the labor of the hands, The lute, flute, and so on that produce sound, Sound also arises in dependence on them. Where does it come from and where does it go? If some wise people investigate this, The coming and going of sound cannot be found. Likewise, for all causes and conditions, All that is assembled arises. The emptiness of what is assembled, without wavering, That is what the yogis know. Inner is also empty, and outer is also empty, Sentient beings are empty of self, without a place, The nature of Dharma is the very nature of space. And: If the dharmas had some nature, The Victors and Shravakas would know it. The real dharmas would not pass away from suffering, The wise would never like elaboration, and so on. Second, in the extensive explanation, the two truths are identified, and all dharmas are explained as dependent arising. First, there are conventional truth and ultimate truth. First, conventional truth is the method for realizing ultimate truth. The Buddhas also initially taught about the formation and destruction of the world, the aggregates, elements, and sources, birth, aging, and so on, the benefits and drawbacks of virtue and non-virtue, and so on. When one possesses the vessel of emptiness, then the supreme scriptures that teach the ultimate truth are shown, and the beings to be tamed are placed on the ground of nirvana. Therefore, it is necessary to rely on conventional truth to teach ultimate truth, and if one is not skilled in distinguishing the two truths

If one does not understand the essence of the Buddha's teachings, one cannot accomplish the meaning of self-nature. Because one is not skilled in means, one will instead fall into the evil views of either permanence or annihilation, so it is very important not to be confused about the distinction between the two truths. The Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son also says: The Knower of the World, without hearing from others, made this distinction between the two truths: those that are the conventional truth, and those that are the truth of ultimate meaning. The noble Nagarjuna also said: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas relies truly on two truths: the conventional truth of the world, and the truth of ultimate meaning. Those who do not know the distinction between these two truths do not understand the very profound essence of the Buddha's teachings. Without relying on terminology, one cannot realize the ultimate meaning. Without realizing the ultimate meaning, one cannot attain nirvana. The noble Aryadeva also said: Just as a barbarian cannot be tamed with another language, so too, without being understood by worldly people, one cannot tame the world. As mentioned above, here, the method for realizing the true view of the ultimate truth is to start with the means of refuge and generating bodhicitta, and up to the practice of calm abiding, all of these are explaining the order of the conventional. And to introduce the nature of calm abiding itself, there are three aspects: the nature of calm abiding, its divisions, and its opposing factors. First, the nature of calm abiding is the one-pointedness of mind on a virtuous object. Second, classification from the perspective of its nature and classification from the perspective of number. The first is classification from the perspective of its nature, which is the bliss of body, etc., from the expansion of the elements due to the bliss of samadhi, and the clarity of certainty such as the knowledge of past and future lives based on the extreme clarity of intelligence, and the non-conceptuality that is not interrupted by other objects when placed in samadhi. The second is the four dhyanas and the formless samadhis. Merely abiding, no matter how good it is, is not the nature of calm abiding until the samadhi of the higher realms is attained, because its cause is the one-pointedness of the desire realm mind. Third, its opposing factors are agitation and torpor and
