The faults of samadhi such as dullness, and also some experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, and the two, vipassanā (insight) and shamatha (calm abiding), are very prone to error, so their distinctions should be understood. Furthermore, if conventional truth is divided, there are two types: conventional truth and mere convention. Conventional truth is so called because ignorance obscures the true meaning, and those that appear as true in its nature are conventional truths. Also, things like double moons and yellow conch shells are not true even conventionally, so they are mere conventions. That conventional truth appears as mere convention to those who possess the realm of experience of noble ones and appearances, and conventional truth appears, because all dharmas are realized to be unreal in all aspects and there is no pride in appearing as true. Also, the correct view that is the object of the samadhi of the noble ones is the ultimate truth, and the false views that appear in the face of correct knowledge without harming the senses of ordinary beings are conventional truths, and those that are the objects of deluded consciousness that harm the senses are merely conventional. The glorious Chandrakirti also said: Conventional truth becomes the means, Ultimate truth is born from the means. Whoever does not know the distinction between these two, They enter the evil path of bad conceptualization. And: Because ignorance obscures its own nature, it is conventional, Whatever appears falsely as true because of it, That is called conventional truth By the Sage; what is artificial is conventional. All things, by seeing truly and falsely, Will grasp the two, the object attained and the nature. Whatever is the object of true seeing is that itself, False seeing is said to be conventional truth. False seeing is also accepted as two kinds, Senses that are clear and senses that are defective. The consciousness of those with defective senses Is considered contrary to the consciousness of those with good senses. Whatever is apprehended by the six senses without harm Is known by the world, From the world itself it is true, the rest Is established as inverted in the world itself. So it is said. Second, ultimate truth is, ultimate truth and, suchness and, emptiness and, utterly non-

The great bliss that has been transformed, as well as the originally peaceful, unborn, unceasing, non-abiding, and naturally nirvanic, the ultimate truth, as well as the nature of reality, as well as emptiness, as well as the supreme and unchanging great bliss, as well as the originally peaceful, unborn, unceasing, non-abiding, and naturally nirvanic, the reality of all phenomena, the heart essence of all Buddhas, the profound Middle Way, dependent origination, etc., are all different ways of saying the same thing. All phenomena encompassed by samsara and nirvana are emptiness because of the emptiness of their respective natures. For example, taking a vase as an example, it arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions such as earth and human labor, and therefore the vase is able to perform its function. The vase is established by dependent origination, thus cutting off the extreme of annihilation, and the vase is not originally non-existent either. Moreover, if one analyzes each of the causes and conditions such as earth, it cannot arise from any one of them. If one analyzes each of the mouth and neck, none of them is the vase. There is no self-nature, and the vase is not established as its own nature by anything, therefore it is not existent, and is separated from the extreme of permanence. Thus, being separated from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, that is the nature of the vase. Similarly, all phenomena should be understood in this way. Therefore, the nature of dependent origination is thus separated from the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Here, it is not said that the meaning of non-existence is emptiness, but rather that the very meaning of dependent origination is expressed as emptiness. As long as one knows that all phenomena are dependent origination, one can see reality and cut off the root of self-grasping. The sutra says: Whoever sees dependent origination sees the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Second, the explanation that all phenomena are dependent origination is to show the absence of self of persons and the absence of self of phenomena. First, regarding the mind that arises in dependence on the five aggregates, the different names for person, man, self, powerful one, lord of power, living being, and goer, etc., should be analyzed here: Is the self the five aggregates? Or is it other than the five aggregates? If the five aggregates are the self, then the self, which is one person, will also become many.
