Because your (so-called) cause arises after ceasing. If that cause does not cease and that result arises, then your cause would become permanent, because that cause does not cease and remains even after producing the result. Furthermore, does that cause produce an existing result or a non-existing result? If it produces an existing result, then that cause has no need to newly produce that result, because your result was already established and existing. If it produces a non-existing result, then that cause could also produce rabbit horns, etc., because that cause can produce a result that has not been established. The noble one (Nāgārjuna) also said: That which arises in dependence on something, for the time being, is that very thing itself, because it is not different from that, it is the characteristic of neither annihilation nor permanence. Thus it was said. Arising from both (俱生) is also unreasonable, because the aforementioned faults will occur. Arising from no cause is extremely inferior and unreasonable, just as lentils, etc., grow from the ground, they would also grow from empty space, because they are the same in having no cause. Therefore, your example of the thesis becomes the subject to be proven, because it is not established. Therefore, the meaning of the thesis, that all things arise from no cause, is only deceiving oneself, and all unwanted things will come upon you. Because it is the cause of samsara, arising from no cause is extremely unreasonable. Second, dispelling the wrong conceptions of intolerance towards the state of non-arising: The debate of intolerance towards the state of non-arising, and dispelling the wrong conceptions about it, is how to answer (the opponent). First, if all dharmas are empty because they are not established, then from the arising and destruction of the world onwards, all the dharmas of the Buddha would become untrue, and the effort to attain Buddhahood, etc., would become meaningless, because all dharmas are not established by their own nature, and are empty. In that case, the view of the Madhyamaka school, which says that all dharmas are empty and without self-nature, is very unreasonable. If all dharmas exist without being established by their own nature, then the dharmas from the arising and destruction of the world, etc., up to the Buddha are true, therefore the efforts of yogis to practice the path
