as well as fire and water. The body image of the Tathagata, the abodes of the six realms of beings, and any appearances that occur between the three thousand worlds are signs that the wind-mind has been grasped. They should be recognized in experience. In the realm of hearing, there are sounds like the buzzing of bees, excerpts from Sanskrit poetry, the essence mantras of yidams, whether good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant, all of which should be recognized in the experience of hearing. Such experiential appearances should be experienced without acceptance or rejection, abandonment or affirmation, and this will give rise to the samadhi of vipashyana. Second, practicing vipashyana involves two aspects: meditating on the selflessness of persons and meditating on the selflessness of phenomena. The first is: The aggregates of body, speech, and mind, none are established as self, since there is no self apart from them, know this meaning of selflessness. Thus it is said. This again has two aspects: meditating on the selflessness of body, speech, and mind, and meditating on the selflessness of the five aggregates. The first has three aspects: meditating on the selflessness of body, speech, and mind. The first is to adjust the bodily posture and gaze as before, remain in that state as before, recognize that one's own body is not established by scripture or reasoning, and then meditate. That is, starting from the head and limbs, to the six sense bases such as form, the chest and internal organs, as well as flesh, blood, bones, pus, fat, shinbones, the sense faculties, wind, veins, heat, and impurities, each of these is not established as the body, therefore the body has never been established apart from them. Having examined this well, the body is not found anywhere, and in that state, completely cut off the continuation of grasping and clinging thoughts, and remain in equanimity. If the mind wanders, as before, determine that the body is not established anywhere, and again not finding the body, remain in that state without intention. Meditating repeatedly in this way every day, determine that the body is not established, and also separate the parts of the body and meditate on their non-establishment. That is, the head is the collection of eyes, ears, nose, tongue, mouth, teeth, lips, hair, brain, flesh, blood, bones, pus, saliva, mucus, spittle, upper jaw, lower jaw, and body hair, each of these.

It is not the head, so after examining it well in this way, the head cannot be found anywhere, and abide in that state, do as before. It should be understood in the same way. Likewise, the nose is not established, and the nose is not established in any of the ten directions. Separating each of its directions one by one from the perspective of dust particles, none of them are established anywhere. Everything should be understood in this way. The nature of speech is also not established, it should be understood in this way. Secondly, the past speech has ceased, the future speech has not arisen, the present speech, know that it is not established as "what is this", and speech cannot be found anywhere, and abide in that state. Thirdly, the mind has no dwelling place from the crown of one's head to the soles of one's feet, nor is it elsewhere. It is also not between the two. In this way, the mind cannot be found anywhere, and abide in that state. Thirdly, in this way, since the three of body, speech, and mind are not established anywhere, these three are not without self, nor are they transformed from without self, and between the two, self is not established, because self cannot be found, and abide in that state. Secondly, meditating on the five aggregates as without self: First, the form aggregate, whether it is shape, color, touch, or smell, taste, observing them one by one, they are not form. Likewise, observing them one by one from the perspective of direction, corners, and dust particles, the nature of form is not established, and abide in that state. Secondly, the feeling aggregate, experiencing the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and equanimity, examining where it exists between the inside and outside of the body, the nature of feeling is not established, and abide in that state. Thirdly, meditating on the aggregate of perception as not established, the perception of each object should also abide in the same way as feeling. Fourthly, meditating on the aggregate of formation as not established, formations of various natures such as attachment, aversion, acceptance, and rejection should also be known and abide in the same way as feeling. Fifthly, meditating on the nature of consciousness as not established, the collection of consciousnesses that grasp each of the objects such as form, does not exist anywhere between the head and tail, inside and outside of the body, in any direction, corner, above or below outside the body.
