Because arising has inherent existence, it is said to be the emptiness of emptiness. Therefore, whatever can accommodate emptiness can accommodate dependent origination; only dependent origination becomes suffering, and non-dependent origination cannot become suffering. If suffering exists, then the arising of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the path to the cessation of suffering can be accommodated. If these exist, then knowing these four, etc., can be accommodated, and if these four exist, then the fruits and those who abide in them can be accommodated. If there are fruits and those who have entered the stream, if there are the Sangha and the Truths, then there is the Dharma. If these two exist, then the Buddha can be accommodated, and therefore the Three Jewels can also be accommodated. All objects that transcend or do not transcend the world, as well as Dharma and non-Dharma and their fruits, and even worldly terms, can be accommodated. All ways of accommodating are explained by the commentary on existence, and this is said to be the view of the Madhyamikas. If one asserts existence, then one will fall into the extreme of existence, and all establishments will be handed over to others alone, which is not the meaning. Second, in three parts: Faults. The reason why the one who points out faults incurs those faults; the way in which he takes his own faults as the faults of others; and a clear explanation of what those faults are. First, for any system in which emptiness is not possible because of inherent existence, dependent origination is not possible, and therefore all establishments will be impossible. The way in which this is impossible will be explained in detail later. Second, therefore, our side is most completely pure and abides without contradicting all the establishments of samsara and nirvana. However, you are so foolish that you do not see how your own side is coarse, very close, has faults, and is contradictory, and how qualities and faults abide. You are turning your own faults into faults of mine. For example, someone is riding a horse but forgets the horse itself. When the horse is stolen by someone else, he seeks a quarrel with others because of this fault. Similarly, you are riding the horse of emptiness with inherent existence, which has the characteristic of dependent origination, but because your mind is distracted, you do not notice it, and therefore you argue with us. Third, those others who, because they do not notice, only seek faults in those who speak of emptiness

What are those faults? To explain this: If you hold that things exist from their own nature or are produced by their own nature, then, since nature does not arise from causes and conditions, you view things as not depending on causes and conditions. If you conceive that a pot exists by its own nature, then it does not need causes and conditions such as clay, and it is also unreasonable for the result called a pot to be without a cause. If the pot does not exist, then the maker, the potter, and the tools such as the wheel, and the action of making the pot also do not exist. Since these do not exist, birth and cessation also do not exist, thus harming the result as well. In short, the impossibility of establishing cause and effect, birth and cessation, etc., is only a fault for those who assert that things exist by their own nature, thus your own fault is transferred to our fault. The second point is that the reason why all establishments are reasonable on our side is that we consider whatever arises dependently on causes and conditions to be the very meaning of emptiness, empty of being produced by its own nature, as explained by the son. How is it explained in this way? In the Questions of Anavatapta, it says: "Whatever is born from conditions is unborn, it does not have the nature of birth." And in the Lankavatara Sutra, it says: "Great Wisdom, considering what is not born by its own nature, I have said that all dharmas are unborn." And in the Noble One Hundred and Fifty Verses, it also says: "All dharmas are empty, in the manner of being without own nature." These are the (authorities). Among them, the first scripture prevents birth by its own nature with the reasoning of dependent arising, which arises from conditions, and states that the very meaning of depending on conditions is the meaning of emptiness, empty of own nature. Therefore, it refutes all those who say that dependent arising, which arises and ceases depending on causes and conditions, is pervaded by existence by its own nature, and that there is no place for action and agent without own nature, because it clearly distinguishes between unborn and unborn by its own nature. The second scripture is that all the unbornness spoken by the Buddha himself is intended for what is not born by its own nature, thus the Buddha himself understood his own intention and explained it. Therefore, things
