When one speaks with conviction that words like "permanent" are true, merely thinking, "I have understood the meaning of this word as it is and spoken it," is like acknowledging it as valid. Those who accept scriptures as a means of entering and exiting extremely obscure matters also acknowledge them as valid, and the reason for acknowledging them as valid must rely on a correct argument, the two are the same. So, here, acknowledging one's own words as valid must be applied to a correct opponent. If he acknowledges the statement "sound is impermanent" as valid, then it must be valid. If so, how does this not contradict the statement that "the subject term is not a proof"? There is no contradiction, because here, "valid" means not deceiving one's own object of expression, not being a proof. And the meaning of not deceiving is also a connection, which is also present in the subject term. Because the subject term spoken by the correct opponent arises from valid inference, and it is related to the object of expression of the subject term, which has become its object of measurement. The subject term cannot be the proof of its own object of expression, because it cannot directly prove like a reason, and it does not have the ability to directly show the proof. Secondly, there are the views that scripture is a harmer and that it is an obstructer. First, it explains what becomes a harmful argument and the reason for being a harmer, and it also explains that if scripture is not valid, then it cannot be an obstructer either. The first is that scriptures like "giving brings enjoyment, law brings happiness" are considered to be the proof of their own object of expression and the harmer of the opposite. It is not the case that the scripture itself is taken as the basis, and only the scripture that does not deceive its own object of expression and is purified by the three examinations (hearing, thinking, and meditation) is the proof, and the harmer of the opposite. The second is that when the examination of the two aspects to be measured is completed and the examination is moved to the third aspect, for Dharma, it must be determined to enter and exit giving happiness and giving suffering after the transfer of life. And, it is necessary to first determine the basis for entering and exiting. And there is no other way to determine it except that scripture is valid, therefore, if the basis for entering and exiting is not determined by validity, then on top of it
