It should be understood as stated. As it is said, it is from the time of obtaining the nature of Vipaśyanā (梵文,Vipaśyanā,梵文罗马拟音,Vipashyana,汉语字面意思:Superior Seeing). In the instructions of the Prajñāpāramitā (梵文,Prajñāpāramitā,梵文罗马拟音,Prajñaparamita,汉语字面意思:Perfection of Wisdom) also it says: After that, focusing on the image associated with conceptualization, when the mind, with a continuous and uninterrupted stream of attention, experiences both, then it is called the path of union of Śamatha and Vipaśyanā. Among these, Śamatha and Vipaśyanā are a union, and the connection is having, that is, mutually bound and entering. As it is said, uninterrupted means that it is not necessary to stop the analysis after analytical meditation and abide in non-conceptualization, but rather to lead to non-conceptualization through the analytical meditation itself. Experiencing both means experiencing the Śamatha that focuses on the non-conceptual image, and the Vipaśyanā that focuses on the image associated with conceptualization. The term "with a stream" means that since the Vipaśyanā of analysis and the Śamatha abiding at the end of analysis cannot occur simultaneously, it is said in this way. However, at the time of the Śamatha that draws the actual Śamatha by the power of analysis, the Vipaśyanā of Dharma discrimination that focuses on reality, and the Śamatha of Samādhi that abides firmly with one-pointed focus on reality, both enter in conjunction. At such a time, Śamatha and Vipaśyanā are mixed, that is, they enter equally. For this, it is necessary to obtain realization born from meditation. Just as small droplets float on the surface of still water, in the stable state of non-conceptualization, it is sufficient to separately analyze the meaning of selflessness. If such a collection of two is called Śamatha-Vipaśyanā compliance, then apart from that, there is no meaning of the actual union of Śamatha and Vipaśyanā. Therefore, the manner of the union of Śamatha and Vipaśyanā should be understood as it appears in those root scriptures, and one should not trust explanations that are fabricated at will. The rational determination of the stages of the path to enlightenment, as well as the scriptural sources of knowledge, and the detailed explanation of the method of meditation, should be understood from the Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. Now, in order to briefly state the meaning of the general path, first, the root of the path lies in the manner of relying on a spiritual friend, so one should determine its essential points. Then, if a genuine desire arises to extract the essence from leisure, then one should practice.
