Therefore, one should contemplate and prostrate, and perform offering rituals, etc., and then pray, and follow the previous order of taking refuge, abandoning the title of "teacher." As it is said. The third is that the teacher should explain the precepts of aspirational bodhicitta to the disciple. The second has two: learning the cause for not losing bodhicitta in this life, and learning the cause for not being separated from it in future lives. The first has four: in order to increase joy in generating bodhicitta, learning to remember the benefits; in order to actually increase bodhicitta, learning to generate it six times; learning not to abandon the sentient beings for whom bodhicitta is generated; and learning to accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom. The first is that one should look at the sutras, or listen to them from the lama, and contemplate the benefits of bodhicitta. As it is extensively explained in the Gandavyuha Sutra, one should look at that sutra. Among them, as previously quoted, it is said to be like the seed of all the Buddha's teachings, and in order to summarize all the practices and aspirations of the bodhisattvas, it is like a brief instruction. Thus, Although there are endless branches and elaborations, since everything is contained in the brief instruction, the brief instruction is like its summary. Similarly, all the key points of the bodhisattva path are said to be contained in the summary. The benefits spoken of in the Bodhisattvabhumi are the benefits of aspirational bodhicitta. Among them, first, in order to generate stable bodhicitta, two benefits are spoken of: becoming a pure field, and completely possessing undefiled merit. The first is, as it is said, "The world, including gods and humans, will become an object of reverence." Thus, immediately after generating bodhicitta, one becomes the object of merit for all sentient beings. And, as it is said, "After generating bodhicitta, even the great arhats will be overwhelmed in terms of lineage." Thus, one becomes a teacher or superior. Even if one performs a small act of merit, it can produce boundless results, therefore it is a field of merit, and like the earth on which everything in the world depends. As it is said, one becomes like a father to all beings. The second is that the protectors of the wheel-turning king constantly protect twice as much, therefore, whether sleeping, intoxicated, or

Even if it becomes like that, Yakshas or non-humans who are permanent residents cannot harm. The words of secret mantras and knowledge mantras can pacify plagues, harms, and infectious diseases. Those who have not achieved success in the hands of sentient beings, if they come into this hand, they will be able to achieve success, let alone those who have already achieved it. This shows that if the mind of enlightenment is firm, activities such as tranquility will also be easily accomplished. Therefore, for the attainment of common accomplishments, if one has this, it will be faster. Wherever one resides, there will be no fear, famine, or harm from non-humans, etc., and after the end of life, there will be less harm and no disease, etc., and with patience and acceptance, one can endure the harm caused by others, and one will not harm others, etc., and it will be difficult to fall into the lower realms, and even if one falls, one will be quickly liberated, and there the suffering will be small, and because of this, one will have a strong aversion to samsara, and compassion will arise for those sentient beings. If the merit of the mind of enlightenment had a form, even the sky could not contain it, and offering jewels to the Buddha could not satisfy even a part of it. As it is said in the "Glorious Merit Question Sutra": The merit of the mind of enlightenment, if it had a form, it would fill the entire realm of space, and it would exceed it. If someone were to fill Buddha lands as numerous as the sands of the Ganges with all kinds of jewels and offer them to the protector of the world, it would be better than someone who joins their palms and turns their mind to enlightenment, this offering is more excellent, without limit. And so on. When the great Lord Atisha was circumambulating the Vajra Throne (Bodh Gaya), he thought about how to quickly attain perfect enlightenment, so he built small Buddha images, wanting the large Buddha images to quickly attain Buddhahood, and asked what he should study. When asked, he replied that he should study the mind of enlightenment. Moreover, in the sky above the Bodhi tree, a young man asked an old woman, and he also heard the same answer. It is said that he therefore had a great certainty about the mind of enlightenment. Thus, this is a compilation of the essential points of all the great vehicle instructions, a great treasure of all accomplishments, a characteristic of the great vehicle that distinguishes it from the lesser vehicle, and the practice of the sons of the Buddhas.
