There, to generate the merits of the path, if one does not possess all the complete supports, but only possesses a part of the supports like the present ones, even if one practices, it will be of no use. Therefore, one must possess all the complete supports. That is, one must possess four kinds of perfections: the perfection of resources to be used, the perfection of the body to be used, the perfection of retinue to be used together, and the perfection of accomplishing all the activities to be done. Merely possessing these perfections will also often become the cause of afflictions, so one must also not be controlled by afflictions. Merely this is not enough; one must also be able to truly accept and reject what should be accepted and rejected, and be able to distinguish well the goals of what should be done and what should be stopped. Otherwise, just as a mirage and a water tree bear their own fruit, and a mule is destroyed by pregnancy, one will be destroyed by perfection itself. If one has wisdom, one will know that this is the result of past good deeds, and then strive again to accumulate good causes, so that they increase. If one does not have wisdom, enjoying the results of past accumulations will exhaust them, and new good deeds will not increase, so suffering will begin in the next life. Therefore, the occurrence of these six perfections in another life will not be caused by causelessness or incompatible causes, and the corresponding cause will certainly be the six perfections in order. The resources and so on in the stage of the path are temporary higher realms, while the ultimate higher realms such as the perfection of the body are only in the Buddha-land. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Resources and the perfection of the body, the perfection of retinue and activities, constantly not being controlled by afflictions, and not being inverted in all activities." Second, in this way, when studying the conduct of a Bodhisattva with such a support, the activities of a Bodhisattva are nothing more than two: accomplishing one's own benefit and the benefit of others. Among them, to accomplish the benefit of others, one must first help with material things, but if giving is accompanied by harming sentient beings, it is meaningless. Therefore, completely stopping from harming others is itself the greatest benefit to others, so one needs discipline. In the final abandonment, if one cannot tolerate the reverse harm, and repays one harm with another, then one will not obtain pure discipline, so how should one deal with the reverse harm?

It is necessary to have such patience. Because by not responding, one can prevent others from accumulating many sins, and thereby turn their minds towards virtuous deeds, so this is for the great benefit of others. For one's own benefit, it is to attain the bliss of liberation through the power of wisdom. But this will not happen with a distracted mind, so one must calm the mind through meditation and gain the ability to abide in the object of focus as one wishes. This will not arise in the lazy, so one must strive diligently day and night, which is the basis for them. Therefore, to accomplish these two benefits, one must have the six perfections. As the verse says: "Extremely diligent in the meaning of sentient beings, Giving, non-harming, and patience are done, Abiding and liberation with a basis, All self-benefit is accomplished." Here it does not say all benefits for others. Abiding and liberation, referring to the mind abiding in the object of focus is the result of meditation, and liberation from samsara is the result of wisdom, if these two are separated, one will not confuse shamatha and vipashyana. Third, first give material things, eliminating their poverty. Then, do not cause harm to any sentient beings. Not only that, but also endure the harm that others inflict on oneself. Help them, striving diligently without weariness. Relying on meditation, through magical powers etc. make them pleased and faithful, and after they become capable vessels, relying on wisdom, explain well, cut off their doubts, and cause them to attain liberation. Therefore, one must have the six perfections. As the verse says: "Not poor, not harming, and enduring harm, Not weary of deeds, joyful speech, Therefore, the meaning of others is one's own meaning." Fourth, like this, one is not attached to the enjoyment one has obtained, and does not pursue what one has not obtained, so one does not crave enjoyment. If one has enjoyment, one can protect the precepts, so one should take the precepts and be respectful towards them. Towards the suffering that arises from relying on sentient and non-sentient beings, one endures without weariness. One is happy to do any virtuous deed, therefore one does not become weary. Through the six non-conceptual meditations of shamatha and vipashyana, one summarizes all the Mahayana of all beings, and these are also accomplished sequentially through the six perfections, and no more is needed, as the verse says: "Not delighting in enjoyment and great respect.
