Thus, actions are reversed. If this situation is reversed, then the involuntary arising in the cycle of existence thrown by actions will be reversed, and therefore the thought of attaining liberation will arise, and this thought will be firmly established. Then, thoroughly seek the view of Suchness. As it is said in the Root Wisdom Treatise: "Liberation is attained by the exhaustion of actions and afflictions. Actions and afflictions arise from conceptualization. These arise from elaboration, and elaboration ceases through emptiness." Like this, after understanding the order of reversing and entering the cycle of existence, it is necessary to cherish the realization of the meaning of Suchness. If the object is not well distinguished, then blind entry will not succeed. The second part has three points: the order of generating the two views of selflessness, actually generating the two views in order, and distinguishing between conventional truth and ultimate truth. The first point is: In the order of arising of the two self-grasps, the self-grasp of phenomena generates the self-grasp of persons. However, when entering the Suchness of selflessness, one must first generate the view of the selflessness of persons, and after that, one must generate the view of realizing the selflessness of phenomena. As it is said in the Precious Garland: "A person is not earth, not water, not fire, not wind, not space, not consciousness, nor all; what else is a person besides these? Because a person is a combination of six elements, it is not truly existent. Likewise, each of those elements is not true because it is a combination." Just as it is said that first there is the selflessness of persons, and then the elements such as earth, which are the basis of imputation, are without inherent existence. The Clear Words commentary by Chandrakirti and the Buddhapalita commentary by Buddhapalita also say that when entering Suchness, one must first enter from the selflessness of persons. Shantideva also said the same. The reason for doing so is that although the selflessness that needs to be determined on the basis of persons and phenomena has no coarse or fine distinctions, it is easier to determine on persons and more difficult to determine on phenomena due to the key point of the basis. For example, the selflessness of phenomena is difficult to determine on the eyes and ears, etc., and easy to determine on images, etc. Therefore, just as these are taken as examples for establishing selflessness on the former. Considering this meaning, the Samadhiraja Sutra also says: "As you have the thought of self, likewise apply the knowledge to all beings.

All phenomena are of that nature, completely pure like the sky. One also knows all phenomena, and one also sees all phenomena. Thus, wherever the thought of "I" arises, if one knows well the nature of that "I," then one can apply that reasoning to internal phenomena such as eyes and ears, and external phenomena such as pots. By knowing it in this way, one knows and sees the nature of one phenomenon, and one can also know and see the nature of all other phenomena. Thus it is said. Secondly, there are two: determining the selflessness of persons and determining the selflessness of phenomena. The first is divided into two: identifying the person and determining that it is without inherent existence. The first is: the so-called person is the person of the six realms, such as gods, and ordinary beings and noble beings, etc. They are also those who accumulate white and black karma, those who experience its fruits, those who wander in samsara, those who cultivate the path for the sake of liberation, and those who attain liberation, etc. This is also quoted in the Introduction to the Middle Way and its commentaries: "The self is called the mind of Mara, you have become a seer, this aggregate is empty, there is no sentient being in it. Just as when limbs are assembled, it is called a chariot, so when aggregates are assembled, it is called a conventional sentient being." The first verse shows the selflessness of persons, the absence of a person in the ultimate sense. The first line says that the grasping of a self is the mind of Mara, the second line says that the one who grasps it is bound by wrong views, and the third and fourth lines say that the aggregates are empty of a self. The second verse shows that there is a person in the conventional sense. The first two lines are a metaphor, and the last two lines combine the meaning, showing that the person is merely imputed in dependence on the aggregates. This sutra says that the collection of aggregates is the basis of imputation for a person, and the basis of imputation should not be the imputed object. The collection of aggregates must be both a simultaneous and a sequential collection, so the continuous collection of aggregates should not be established as a person. When a collection is established as the basis of imputation, then the one who has the collection is also established as the basis of imputation, so both of them should not be a person. The Introduction to the Middle Way says: "The sutra says that it exists in dependence on the aggregates."
