Alternating between the two is to cultivate non-conceptual wisdom. If one does not examine the object at all and merely gathers attention, it is impossible to cultivate, because one cannot abandon the clinging to truth. That is merely not clinging to true existence, but not realizing the absence of truth. Similarly, it is merely not clinging to the existence of self, but not realizing the absence of self. Therefore, meditating on it does not harm the clinging to self at all. Therefore, one must distinguish between not clinging to true existence and dualistic existence, and realizing the absence of truth and the absence of self. Be sure to grasp this key point. Second, refuting disputes: If separately examining the meaning of selflessness is conceptual thought, then it is contradictory for non-conceptual wisdom to arise from it, because the result and the cause must be consistent. To this, the Bhagavan himself explained with an example. In the chapter of "Light Protector," it says: "Light Protector, for example, two pieces of wood rubbed by the wind produce fire, and after it arises, it burns the two pieces of wood. Similarly, Light Protector, if there is correct separate examination, the king of noble wisdom will arise, and when it arises, it will burn that very correct separate examination." Therefore, it is said in the sutra that noble wisdom arises from separate examination. In the Middle Stages of Meditation, it also says: "Therefore, one should examine in detail with wisdom. When the yogi does not grasp the essence of any object as ultimately true, then he enters into non-conceptual samadhi. And he also realizes the emptiness of the essence of all dharmas. If someone does not examine the essence of objects separately with wisdom and meditate, but only meditates by completely abandoning attention, then his conceptual thought will never be reversed, and he will never realize the emptiness of essence, because there is no light of wisdom. Thus, if the fire of knowing as it is arises from correct separate examination, like fire produced by rubbing wood, it will burn the wood of conceptual thought, as the Bhagavan has declared." Thus. If it were not so, then the path with outflows would also produce the path without outflows.

It is impossible. Ordinary beings cannot attain the state of an Arya because the two, cause and effect, are different. Similarly, just as a blue sprout grows from a white seed, smoke arises from fire, and a man is born from a woman, countless different kinds of cause and effect appear. The non-conceptual wisdom of the Aryas is the direct realization of the meaning of selflessness, which is empty of objects grasped as self. To generate this, one must now analyze the object of grasping as self separately and meditate by realizing its non-existence. Although this is conceptualization, it is a cause that is very much in accordance with non-conceptual wisdom. As it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra, "If one separately contemplates the selflessness of phenomena," and so on, as quoted before. Therefore, it is also said in the last part of the Stages of Meditation, "Although it is the nature of conceptualization, because it is the nature of proper attention, non-conceptual wisdom will arise, so one should rely on it because one desires that wisdom." It is said. If someone thinks that the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra says that if one practices thinking that form and so on are emptiness and selflessness, then one is practicing with signs. Therefore, it is unreasonable to separately contemplate emptiness. Such cases refer to grasping emptiness as truly existent, not just grasping it as emptiness. This has been explained many times before. If it were not so, then in those sutras, bodhisattvas, great beings, practice the Perfection of Wisdom and meditate on the Perfection of Wisdom, and should examine and definitely think in this way: What is the Perfection of Wisdom? Whose is this Perfection of Wisdom? Is any non-existent and invisible dharma the Perfection of Wisdom? If one examines in this way and definitely thinks in this way. It is said that one should examine when meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom. And in the Heart Sutra, when asked how to practice the profound Perfection of Wisdom, the answer is: The five aggregates should also be truly viewed as empty of their own nature. And in the Compendium, it is also said: When conditioned and unconditioned things and black and white dharmas,
