It appears so! In this way, if you want to refute the views of those who speak of reality as existing in conventional truth, you must refute them through rational analysis. And whether or not those with conceptual minds accept that you yourself admit that arising and ceasing exist in conventional truth depends on whether or not there is a reason to establish it. Moreover, this also depends on whether or not you follow reason. If, through rational analysis, you find that both the conventional phenomena that you yourself admit and the conceptualizations of those who speak of entities are harmed by reason, then they are equally harmed; if they are not harmed, then they are equally unharmed. If you believe that things like power and the chief do not exist in name, then you must admit that forms and so on also do not exist; if these exist in name, then you must admit that power and so on also exist, and these two are seen as the same. For any dharma, one should not identify or accept anything as being this or not being that according to one's own system, but one presumes to have found the thusness of the Middle Way, and one wants to meditate on the meaning of pure view by abiding in not grasping anything that is in accordance with such an understanding, and this seems to be very common. These kinds of words do not seem to please the wise. As mentioned earlier, if the object to be refuted by reason is not identified, then all the nominal designations are destroyed by the reason that refutes self-nature. If correct views and wrong views are confused, then confusion is the same, and if they are not confused, then non-confusion is the same, and in the end it becomes a great inverted view. Therefore, even if one is accustomed to this kind of view for a long time, one will not get even a little closer to the correct view, but will go further away. This is because all the designations of dependent origination of samsara and nirvana are extremely contradictory to the path of dependent origination that is acceptable to one's own system. Therefore, in the "Entering the Middle Way," it says: "The tirthikas, disturbed by the sleep of ignorance, and the self that they postulate, and whatever is postulated as illusion, mirage, etc., do not exist even in the world, let alone in reality." This means that the uncommon views of the tirthikas, and as quoted earlier, the things that are established by the uncommon views of those in our own school who assert reality, do not exist even in our own conventional truth. Now, I will explain the meaning of what was said. For those who believe that existence and non-existence exist in name

So, in what way is it thought to establish it? It is what is known to conventional consciousness, and the meaning of what is known in that way is not harmed by other conventional valid cognitions, and it is not subject to harm by reasoning that examines whether it is suchness or whether it exists by its own nature, then it is considered to exist conventionally, and what is contrary to that is considered not to exist. Among them, conventional consciousness is merely following whatever appears in any phenomenon. Is the meaning of the appearance merely appearing in the mind in that way? Or is it established in that way in terms of the way things are? These are the consciousnesses that arise without examining such things. That itself is called unexamined consciousness, but it is not that it does not examine at all. This is because worldly or conventional consciousness acts according to how it appears and is known, and it is not acting after examining how things really are, so it is also called worldly convention, so this kind of consciousness arises in everyone, whether or not they have been transformed by tenets, so no matter whose mind it is in, it is called worldly convention or unexamined consciousness, and it is not considered to exist only in the minds of worldly people who have not been transformed by tenets. Even for those who have been transformed by tenets, although there are many minds that consider how it is known conventionally, or whether it truly exists in suchness, not all of those consciousnesses need to be consciousnesses that examine how things really are. Therefore, how worldly convention is, is not only asking worldly elders who are free from tenets, but it is enough to look at how the unexamined minds of both the proponent and opponent are acting. For that consciousness, convention is what becomes the basis for applying the name of appearance or experience. Even things like karma and its effects, and the grounds and paths, etc., which are not well known to ordinary people, when they become objects through hearing and experience, etc., since consciousness that does not examine how things really are will naturally appear, there is no fault of not being worldly convention. Being harmed by other conventional valid cognitions, for example, when thinking that a rope is a snake, and when thinking that a mirage is water, it is grasped by a mind that does not examine how things really are.
