By clinging to the characteristics of anger, the mind of hatred arises; due to intolerance of harm, the mind of intolerance arises; and due to repeatedly thinking of the causes of anger in an improper way, the mind of holding grudges arises; the mind of resentment arises, thinking that it would be alright to beat or kill; for generating harmful thoughts, due to having no shame and not knowing that it arises from faults, the mind of being overwhelmed arises, thus possessing five minds. Merely turning into harmful thoughts is: thinking, "This person has harmed or is harming me," all the thoughts that arise for the purpose of harming him are all harmful thoughts. Similarly, wishing for the decline of others' relatives, possessions, virtues, etc., in this life, or wishing that they would go to a bad rebirth in the next life, is also harmful thought. The basis of wrong view is: the meaning of existence. Among the three thoughts, thought is: to perceive the meaning of slander as true. Affliction is: any of the three. Intention is: wanting to slander. Action is: starting to act on that thought. There are also four types, namely, slandering the cause, the result, the action, and the existing entity. Slandering the cause is: saying that there is no good conduct or bad conduct, etc. Slandering the result is: saying that there is no ripening of those two. There are three types of slandering the action, slandering the action of sowing and holding is: saying that there is no father and mother. Slandering the action of coming and going is: saying that there is no past and future life. Slandering the action of being born is: saying that there is no spontaneous birth. Slandering the existing entity is: saying that there are no Arhats, etc. The ultimate is: deciding to slander. This is also completed through five: due to not knowing how to know the knowable as it is, the mind of delusion arises; due to liking sin, the mind of violence arises; due to definitely contemplating improper dharma, the mind of constantly entering the wrong path arises; due to slandering generosity, offerings, fire offerings, and good conduct, etc., saying that there is none, the mind of extreme deterioration arises; due to that wrong view, there is no shame, and not knowing that it will definitely arise from faults, the mind of being overwhelmed arises, these five are it.

What qualities does it possess? If these five are not complete, then it is not perfect. Although there are other wrong views, the reason why this alone is called a wrong view is that it cuts off all roots of virtue and is in accordance with indulging in evil deeds as one pleases, therefore it is the greatest of all wrong views. Among them, killing, harsh speech, and harmful intent are initiated by the three poisons and concluded by hatred. Taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, and covetousness are initiated by the three poisons and concluded solely by desire. Lying, divisive speech, and idle chatter are both initiated and concluded by all three poisons. Wrong view is initiated by the three poisons and ultimately reached solely by ignorance. Among these, the mind is karma, but not a path of karma. The seven of body and speech are both karma and the basis upon which the mind engages, therefore they are also paths of karma. Covetousness and the other three are paths of karma, but not karma itself. Secondly, to show the weightiness, there are two aspects: the weightiness of the ten paths of karma, and incidentally, to briefly show the door of powerful karma. First, from five aspects, with regard to killing, the heaviest in terms of intention is that which is caused by the intense three poisons. The heaviest in terms of action is to have a joyful and satisfied mind towards having killed, being in the process of killing, or going to kill, and oneself doing it, and causing others to do it, praising killing, and feeling joy upon seeing others kill, and acting with a mind that has been contemplated and accumulated for a long time, and doing it constantly and respectfully, and killing many lives at once, and killing by creating intense suffering, and causing fear and forcing others to do what should not be done, and killing while speaking of weakness, suffering, poverty, and misery, and killing while lamenting with compassion. The heaviest in terms of having no antidote is not taking any vows like a single day, not observing the fast on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of the month, not giving alms from time to time, not doing good deeds, not openly confessing, not prostrating, not standing up, not joining palms, and not having a reverent mind, and not frequently having a sense of shame and embarrassment, and not obtaining strong remorse, and not pursuing the path of liberation from worldly attachments.
