Because it becomes non-dependent, and because it becomes without a cause for establishment. The two aspects of the support and the supported are not the support of their own limbs, like yogurt in a wooden bowl; nor are they dependent on the limbs, like Lha Sbyin (Devadatta) on a bed. If these two exist separately by their own nature, then it would be established, but because that does not exist. Here, it is not just denying mutual existence, but denying that the support and the supported are established by their own characteristics. The two examples given are also to refute the opponent's view that these are established as support and supported by their own nature, and all such things should be understood in the same way. The aspect of having is also unreasonable, just as Lha Sbyin has cows that have become other meanings, if it is also thought that a chariot has its own limbs, then just as one separately grasps cows and Lha Sbyin, one must also separately grasp from the limbs of the chariot, but because one does not separately grasp, such having does not exist. Just as one says, "Lha Sbyin has ears," it is also unreasonable for a chariot to have limbs, because the difference in nature has been denied, and for something established by its own nature, the way of having is the side of the same nature, and that has already been denied. Just as this does not deny that Lha Sbyin having ears is merely nominally existent, so it is with a chariot, denying having established by its own nature. The remaining two aspects are: if only the aggregate becomes a chariot, then when existing separately, the chariot should also exist here. Because there are no limbs, and the limbs do not exist, so merely the shape cannot be a chariot either. Like this, the two are merely the aggregate of limbs and the special shape of the limbs being established as a chariot. To this, a chariot is not merely the aggregate of its own limbs. There are two aspects to this: the contradiction with reason is that when all the limbs, wheels, etc., are separated and scattered, when they are gathered without anything missing, the chariot should also exist, because merely the aggregate of limbs is a chariot. The contradiction with one's own assertion is that here, those of our own school who assert substantiality think that there are no limbs, only an aggregate of limbs, and if that is the case, then the limbs also do not exist, because there are no limbs.
