Therefore, it is also stated that the view that both the proponent and opponent must establish is refuted. As it says, "If one asserts certainty for both, that is either establishing or refuting; if one speaks of establishing or doubting for either one, that is not." Therefore, even those who think in this way should acknowledge this way of inferring based on worldly conventions, as has been said. Like this, harm by scripture is not only through the scripture that is established for both, but what is it then? It is also through the way that is established for oneself. For inference for one's own sake, it is always only what is established for oneself that is reliable, not what is established for both. Therefore, stating the definition of logic is unnecessary, because the Buddhas, with the reason of how it appears to themselves, benefit the beings to be tamed who do not know it. Thus it is said. Thus, like the valid cognition mentioned earlier, establishing what is to be established with a reason that is established for both debaters is a self-sufficient reason; if it cannot be established, establishing what is to be established with the three modes known to the other debater is established as Prasangika, which is very clear in the intention of the teacher. Second, which of the two do they follow to generate the view in their minds? Thus, if those great Madhyamikas who follow the noble father and son have two different systems of Svatantrika and Prasangika, which one should they follow? Here, we follow the Prasangika system. This is also as mentioned before, in conventional truth, we negate the inherent existence that is established by its own entity, and after negating it, we need something that can perfect all the establishments of samsara and nirvana, so we must gain certainty about these two ways. If things If one accepts the inherent existence established by its own entity, then the rational investigation of whether it is reasonable to engage in is much discussed in the treatises of these two teachers. Because it is seen to be very consistent with the treatises of the noble father and son, that system is accepted, and if that is the case, then as mentioned before, it seems necessary to definitely accept the Prasangika side. Third, there are three ways to generate the view in the mind based on the action. The self of the person

And establishing the selflessness of phenomena, and establishing the selflessness of Dharma, the way to eliminate obscurations by becoming accustomed to these views. The first has three aspects: actually establishing the selflessness of self, showing that through it, the "I" of self is also established as selfless, and the way to apply these reasonings to other things as well. The first has two aspects: giving an example and applying it to the meaning. The first is: In the commentary to the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, the sutra is quoted as saying, "The so-called self is the mind of a demon. You have become a view. These compounded aggregates are empty. There is no sentient being in this. Just as by relying on the collection of limbs, it is called a chariot. Likewise, by relying on the aggregates, it is called a conventional sentient being." Just as by relying on its own parts, such as the wheel, it is named a chariot, by relying on the aggregates, self or sentient being is also designated, so first the example of the chariot should be explained. This has four aspects: showing the chariot as an imputation that is without inherent existence, refuting disputes about it, the way it is established through the distinction of names, and the benefit of quickly gaining the view by relying on it. The first is: As it says in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, "The chariot is not considered other than its parts, nor non-other, it does not possess them, it is not in the parts, the parts are not in it, it is not merely an assemblage, it is not the shape, as it is." Just as the chariot is not one or different from its own parts in seven ways, so it is merely imputed, the self and the aggregates are also said to be similar. Here, if the chariot had inherent existence established by its own entity, then inevitably it would have to be established by reasoning that examines whether it exists in any of the seven ways, such as one or different. However, since it is not established by it in any of those seven ways, it is without inherent existence. The parts of the chariot are the axle, the wheel, and the rivets, etc. The chariot is not one nature with those parts, because if it were one, then just as those parts are many, the chariot would also become many, and just as the chariot is one, the parts would also become one, and the agent and the action would also become one, etc. It is also not each separate individual established by entity from its own parts, because if it were, like a vase and a cloth, they would each be separate.
