It should be established in this way. That is, it should be established in the manner of the letters standing upright, facing the central letter. The petal letters do not have a moon seat mentioned, so it is not necessary. The letters are not only different in size, but also mixed with clarity and obscurity. The half-moon, dot, and nada of vowels are all consonants. That is, in terms of the central letters, the central ཨཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अं, Sanskrit Romanization: aṃ, literal meaning: ཨཾ་) has more vowel components and fewer consonant components. Except for the eastern petal, the petals in other directions do not have vowel letters, so the vowel components of the petals are also few, and the consonant components are many. The ཧཱུཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: ཧཱུཾ་) in the center of the heart chakra has more consonant components. The ཨོཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओं, Sanskrit Romanization: ōṃ, literal meaning: ཨོཾ་) in the center of the throat chakra has more vowel components. The petal letters of these two have equal vowel and consonant components. The ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, literal meaning: ཧཾ་) in the center of the crown chakra has more consonant components, and its petal letters have more vowel components. That is, vowels represent red bodhicitta, and consonants represent white bodhicitta. It is good if the petal letters are clear and one can focus on them. If one cannot focus, then the four letters in the center of the four chakras are very small. If one can focus on the size of a mustard seed and find a little sense of location, that is enough. So, one should strive to find it. After the clear appearance of the letters arises, shift the focus. After finding it, one must shift the focus to the bindu. Because practicing subtle letters is for the purpose of finding the support for focusing on the bindu. When focusing on the bindu, one should do this: first, clarify the previous focus points in order. Then, from the trijunction, the wind of karma moves, and a fire blazes from the ཨཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अं, Sanskrit Romanization: aṃ, literal meaning: ཨཾ་) of the navel chakra, rising upwards in the central channel to the crown chakra. The light of that fire melts the letters of the crown chakra's knot, gathering in the center of the wheel, and the ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, literal meaning: ཧཾ་) also melts into a bindu, then gradually descends to the throat, the light melts the letters of the throat, merging into that bindu. Again, descending from the throat to the heart, its light melts the letters of the heart, merging into that bindu. Again, descending from the heart to the navel, its light melts the letters of the navel, merging into that bindu.

When focusing on the object of contemplation, first generate the conviction that this bindu is the union of mind, bindu, and prana, and think of it as being of the nature of indivisible bliss and emptiness. Then, focus the mind on the white and slightly reddish bindu within the navel chakra knot, which is about the size of a medium mustard seed. When the subtle object of contemplation appears, and the mind slightly grasps it, add this object of contemplation and practice. That is, generate the conviction that your own mind is absorbed into that subtle bindu, and then focus the mind on that bindu. After becoming accustomed to this, when there is no dualistic appearance between your own mind and the bindu, and the experience of the mind being absorbed into the bindu arises, the necessity of focusing on the bindu is accomplished, so you can shift the object of contemplation. Furthermore, even if you practice the previous objects of contemplation after that, and the experience of the mind being absorbed into the bindu does not arise, then after practicing the previous objects of contemplation, for about two-thirds or half of the time of focusing on the bindu, practice focusing on the prana in each session. The method of practice is to gather your left side and upper and lower pranas at the triple junction below the navel chakra. As soon as they are gathered, repeatedly visualize the pranas disappearing like exhaling onto a mirror. The necessity of practicing in this way is to connect the channels, and to prevent obstacles that depend on the pranas from arising, and also, when entering into samadhi, this prana that flows in the nostrils will stop. The way it stops is: first, when entering into samadhi, the prana will not flow in the nostrils for about three breaths. Then, as the habit becomes deeper and deeper, the time that the prana does not flow in the nostrils will become longer, so that only then will the situation arise where the prana does not flow in the nostrils sometime in the morning. Moreover, when the prana stops for the first time, the feeling of the prana in the nostrils flowing backwards and the abdomen being filled with prana will arise. Then, if the feeling of the abdomen being filled disappears and the prana starts to flow in the nostrils, then it is not a true stopping of the prana. Even if the prana inside the abdomen disappears like exhaling onto a mirror, but if the prana still does not flow in the nostrils, then the prana has entered the central channel. This prana is also the downward-clearing prana among the five root pranas. It has two types, new and old, and the old pranas will disappear, so the central channel
