Accomplishing clear appearances through two meditations that focus single-pointedly on clarity; generating a strong conviction that one is glorious Vajrabhairava and abiding in it, stabilizing pride—both of these should be practiced, which is learning the vast. If the meditator, the object of meditation, and the meditation itself are examined, although they are not truly established in reality, still abiding in the meaning of illusory appearances and equally abiding in the yoga of suchness, which is focusing on the deity's form and continuously generating conviction in its lack of inherent existence, therefore both the profound and the vast should be studied, these are focusing the mind on reason. Meditating in this way is to eliminate sinking and excitement. To do so, focus the mind on the tip of the nose above or below, on a blue vajra residing on the moon, the size of a mustard seed. When it is stable, emanate many hand symbols from it and then gather them back into the root symbol. This is focusing the mind on the subtle, the order of gathering the mind. Having meditated in this way, one should remember the purification of faults: the nine faces represent the nine divisions of scripture, the two horns represent the two truths, the thirty-four hands and the three of body, speech, and mind, plus the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the sixteen feet represent the sixteen emptinesses, the erect symbol represents the increase of great bliss, the humans and so forth represent the eight siddhis, and the garuda and so forth represent the eight powers. Being naked represents being without obscurations, and the hair standing on end represents showing the state of nirvana. As explained in the two commentaries. If these meanings are briefly summarized, the basis for establishing is the meaning of the nine divisions of scripture, which is conventional illusion and ultimate reality like space, and the path that understands this is the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. The main part of this path is the realization of ultimate reality, which is the realization of the sixteen emptinesses, and it is entered inseparably with the method of great bliss. The result of traversing this path, the main part of both common and uncommon accomplishments, is nirvana where obscurations are exhausted, it should be understood that the form appearing as Vajrabhairava symbolizes it in this way. If one wants to meditate extensively, one should learn from the two commentaries and the treatises of Lalita, which is remembering purification. Then, at the end of the samadhi mind,

The letters of the mantra that one wishes to recite should be visualized as standing upright in a clockwise direction, blazing with light. Then, from that light, gradually transmit through the nostrils of the root consort, coming out with the exhalation, accomplishing the benefit of beings. Then, again inhale, with the inhalation entering through the nostrils, dissolving into the mantra garland, and visualize it emerging from the nine faces, reciting without fault. The faults of recitation are: too fast and too slow, too clear and unclear, too long and too short, reversing, being interrupted by other words, and the mind wandering elsewhere, etc. In the practice method of the Six-Faced One, it says: With a mind that does not go elsewhere, recite in that manner. If the mind goes to other places, even reciting for an eon will not produce results. It is said like this, and there are many others, so it is especially important that the mind is not distracted. Lalita said that if one recites with the mind focused on the blazing letters, then accomplishment will be swift. The mantra to be recited is: Om Yamaraja Sadomeya Yaya Medo Runa Yodaya Yaya Dayo Niraya Ksheya Yaya Ksheya Chani Ramaya Hum Hum Phet Phet Svaha. (Tibetan: ༀ་ཡ་མ་རཱ་ཛ་ས་དོ་མེ་ཡ་ཡ་མེ་དོ་རུ་ཎ་ཡོ་ད་ཡ་ཡ་ད་ཡོ་ནི་ར་ཡ་ཀྵེ་ཡ་ཡ་ཀྵེ་ཡ་ཙྪ་ནི་རཱ་མ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་སྭཱཧཱ།), (Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ यमराज सदो मेय यमेदो रुण योदय यदयो निराय क्षेय यय क्षेय च्छानिरामय हुं हुं फट् फट् स्वाहा), (Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ yamarāja sado meya yamedo ruṇa yodaya yadayo nirāya kṣeya yaya kṣeya cchānirāmaya hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ phaṭ svāhā), (Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Yamaraja, Sadomeya, Yaya Medo Runa, Yodaya, Yaya Dayo Niraya, Ksheya, Yaya Ksheya, Chani Ramaya, Hum, Hum, Phet, Phet, Svaha), this is the root mantra or garland mantra. Om Hrih Shtrih Vikritanana Hum Phet (Tibetan: ༀ་ཧྲཱིཿ ཥྚྲཱིཿ ཝི་ཀྲི་ཏཱ་ན་ན་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་), (Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ ह्रीः क्ष्रीः विक्रितानन हुं फट्), (Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ hrīḥ kṣrīḥ vikṛtānana hūṃ phaṭ), (Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Hrih, Shtrih, Vikritanana, Hum, Phet), this is the action mantra. Manne says that combining this mantra with Hum Hum Phet Phet Svaha (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་ཕཊ་སྭཱཧཱ།), (Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं हुं फट् फट् स्वाहा), (Sanskrit Roman transliteration: hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ phaṭ svāhā), (Literal Chinese meaning: Hum, Hum, Phet, Phet, Svaha) to recite is optional. Om Yamantaka Hum Phet (Tibetan: ༀ་ཡ་མཱནྟ་ཀ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ་), (Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ यमान्तक हुं फट्), (Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ yamāntaka hūṃ phaṭ), (Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Yamantaka, Hum, Phet), this is the heart mantra. Regarding the number, the third chapter of the Tantra says that the beginner should recite 100,000, the second should recite 300,000, and the third should recite 100,000 times the number of letters, and then all activities can be accomplished. The fourth chapter says that the root mantra should be recited 300,000 times. The previous 300,000 was said by the teacher Akshobhya, considering the person of medium capacity. Other practice texts say that the number of recitations is similar to the previous one, and Jnana Akara says that one should first complete a million recitations or obtain signs before starting activities. After that, regarding empowerment, Amoghavajra said to recite the ten-syllable mantra one million times, but it is not so. In order to accomplish many activities such as pacifying, if the current practitioner has not obtained the stable signs mentioned above, then it is better to recite the number of millions of times. Rosaries, etc.
