The Great Glorious Vajrabhairava Sadhana, Completely Victorious Over All Maras. The Great Glorious Vajrabhairava Sadhana, Completely Victorious Over All Maras. The Great Glorious Vajrabhairava Sadhana, Completely Victorious Over All Maras is present. Namo Guru Manjughoshaya. O, Manjushri, who rivals all Victors, In order to completely eradicate the roots of darkness, Displaying a supremely wrathful form, Yamantaka, With reverence, I bow to the feet of the Lama. Moving with the dance steps of sixteen feet, Causing the three realms to tremble in every way, Raising the emblems of thirty-four hands, Crushing all the hosts of obstacles into dust, The terrifying roar of nine faces, Completely filling the expanse of the sky, The deity known as Glorious Vajrabhairava, I will explain the sadhana of that supreme deity. The main obstacle to achieving the fortunate path to liberation, Destroying the mind is ignorance, destroying the body is Yama. Destroying ignorance and bestowing wisdom is the supreme Manjushri, The outstanding one who destroys the Lord of Death is Bhairava. Therefore, the sadhana of peaceful and wrathful Manjushri, This path is for disciples with discerning wisdom, Seeing it as a wonderful entrance, I am delighted to strive in this way. Here, the yogi, with pure intention, diligently works for the benefit of sentient beings through practices such as generosity and ethics, and with minds such as love, adorned with faith and learning, and especially having entered the mandala of the Great Vajrabhairava, having perfectly received empowerment, and diligently guarding the vows and commitments that have been made. From the places mentioned in the tantras, such as monasteries or any place that is agreeable, first bathe and clean the mandala, spread flowers, and arrange painted images in front. Sit on a comfortable cushion facing east or south, purify the mouth with nectar pills, offer tormas to the gods and spirits, entrust them with activities, and then let them depart. Then, visualize yourself as Bhairava with one face and two arms, with the rays of light from the Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) syllable residing on the lotus and sun disc in your heart, illuminating the immeasurable realms of the world, and then surrounded by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, wrathful deities, and assemblies of vidyadharas residing there.

Invite the Vajrabhairava Lama and retinue to the space in front, and gather the rays into the heart. Then: Supreme in form, supremely fierce, The realm of activity of the supreme hero, Acting for the sake of taming the untamable, I prostrate to Vajrabhairava. With this, prostrate to the deities including the Lama. Visualize that from the rays of the seed syllable in the heart, arise the white Tartsika, the blue Pig-faced Mother, the red Saraswati, the green Gauri, holding various offering substances in their hands, and make offerings with Oṃ Hrīḥ Ṣṭrīḥ Ha (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ ह्रीः षट्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ hrīḥ ṣaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Hrih, Six). Cleanse the feet with Oṃ Hūṃ Hūṃ Phaṭ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ हुं हुं फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Hum, Hum, Phat). Anoint with Oṃ Vikritānana Duṣṭa Sattva Dama Ka Gaḥ Gaḥ Gaḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ विक्रितानन दुष्ट सत्त्व दम क गः गः गः, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ vikritānana duṣṭa sattva dama ka gaḥ gaḥ gaḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Wrathful Face, Evil Being, Tamer, Ga, Ga, Ga). Offer flowers with Oṃ Kumāra Rūpiṇe Jaḥ Jaḥ Hūṃ Phaṭ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ कुमार रूपिणे जः जः हुं फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ kumāra rūpiṇe jaḥ jaḥ hūṃ phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Youthful Form, Jah, Jah, Hum, Phat). Burn incense with Oṃ Hrīḥ Hā Hai Phaṭ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ ह्रीः हा है फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ hrīḥ hā hai phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Hrih, Ha, Hai, Phat). Light the lamp with Oṃ Dīpta Locana Vikritānana Mahā Aṭṭaṭṭa Hāsa Nadi Ni Dīptāya Svāhā (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ दीप्त लोचन विक्रितानन महा अट्टट्ट हास नदि नि दीप्ताय स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ dīpta locana vikritānana mahā aṭṭaṭṭa hāsa nadi ni dīptāya svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Bright Eyes, Wrathful Face, Great, Haha Laughter, River, Illuminate, Svaha). Offer food with Oṃ Vajra Naivedya Āḥ Hūṃ Svāhā (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ वज्र नैवेद्य आः हुं स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ vajra naivedya āḥ hūṃ svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, Offering, Ah, Hum, Svaha). Offer music with Oṃ Vajra Śapta Āḥ Hūṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ वज्र शब्द आः हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ vajra śabda āḥ hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, Sound, Ah, Hum). Then gather the goddesses back. Then, confess sins, eliminate those that have arisen and will arise, and vow before the Buddhas not to create them again. Likewise, rejoice in virtuous deeds, and dedicate my accumulated merit to the good realms. Take refuge in the Three Jewels. I will liberate all sentient beings, and place them in the state of enlightenment. Generate the true Bodhicitta. To you, the ocean of qualities, I offer my body. In order to attain the fully enlightened Buddha, and the path of the Buddha's sons, such as generosity, etc., in order to attain the wisdom of the three bodies, I will practice with great joy. Thus, contemplate the meaning of these and recite them. If you wish to take the vows of the five families, there is no contradiction in doing so, because Manjushri Jnana and Amoghavajra have taught to take the vows. Then, contemplate loving-kindness, wishing that all sentient beings may have happiness; contemplate compassion, wishing that all sentient beings may be free from suffering; contemplate joy, wishing that all sentient beings may never be separated from happiness; contemplate equanimity, wishing to abide in equanimity, unshaken by the eight worldly dharmas and the conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped, thus cultivating the four immeasurables, thereby accumulating the accumulation of merit. Then recite: Oṃ Svabhāva Śuddhāḥ Sarva Dharmāḥ Svabhāva Śuddho'ham (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओँ स्वभावा शुद्धाः सर्व धर्माः स्वभावा शुद्धोऽहम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ svabhāvā śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāvā śuddho'ham, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Nature Pure, All Dharmas, Nature Pure, I).
