This is because there was no rain. As it is said. The fortunate ones consider that things arising from causes such as the aggregates are similar, conches and the like are pure, but skulls are not. They say that there is no difference in reason between these. The brave ones also explain that the reason lies in the fact that there is no difference in meat. But the view of Lavapa is correct. Because human skulls can also be used as purifying objects. The brave Bhagavan adorned himself with a garland of dry and wet human skulls, and used a crescent moon as an ornament for his head. Just as the crescent moon gradually turns into a full moon, the fragments of the brave skull and so on are also said to arise from the brave Heruka. The second part is divided into two parts: first, the general conduct of the left path, and second, the particular offering of the left hand. The first part is: The five symbols are the five goddesses such as Vajravarahi, and it should be visualized that they rely on the five skulls on the hair bun. This is to say that one should visualize that the nature of the five goddesses is five dry skulls. Or, the symbol of the five fingers is that through the ways mentioned below, the practitioner uses the left hand to give samaya substances such as food, etc., in order to accomplish the accomplishment of the mudra. Therefore, one should fully understand the symbolism of the hand. The reason is that this left hand is the abode of heroes and heroines such as Vajrasattva. All sentient beings of the three realms, contained by essence and non-essence, arise from the left path, so one should practice the left path. Lavapa said: The left path is wisdom, the nature of non-self-nature. Being fully familiar with the conventional truth can approximately represent the non-dual suchness of all dharmas. Thus it is said. The fortunate one quoted Nagarjuna's teaching: From the dharmas of emptiness itself, arise the dharmas of praise. Therefore, all moving and unmoving things should be regarded as emptiness without self-nature. The emphasis of meaning lies in explaining the left path as female, which has been explained in detail earlier. The second part is: Then, when making hand offerings, which deity should the fingers of the left hand and so on reside on? Vajrasattva is the hand

The large or trunk of the left hand, which is the thumb, is where the deity resides. Similarly, the tender shoot, which is the index finger, is where the Illuminating One resides. This kind of ritual form is not found in other translations. If it exists, it is like the ritual of placing deities on two fingers. Similarly, deities are also placed on the remaining fingers. Mainly, on the middle finger, is Padma Garmadza, the Lord of Dance. Firmly, on the ring finger, resides the hero Heruka who bestows all accomplishments. Finally, on the little finger, is the Essence of Space, Vajra Sun, who possesses an invincible body. In the translation of Lo chen (Great Translator), the five fingers, including the thumb, are mentioned by their own names. The sum of the five nail surfaces is the abode of Hayagriva or Supreme Horse. All these heroes are placed on the left hand because gestures and giving food originate from the left hand. In the palm of the left hand, visualize a five-petaled lotus of four colors, with the pistil, the center, being Shri Heruka and his consort Vajravarahi united, causing supreme joy. In front is the Death Goddess, on the left is the Deluding Goddess, on the right is the Protecting Goddess, and behind is the Terrifying Goddess. The Fierce Mother desires to enter equally, that is, meditate within the boundary of the powerful one, as said by the hero. The Fortunate One and Langka place the Terrifying Goddess on the right and the Acting Goddess behind. On the back of the left hand, also visualize the twelve deities or the assembly of deities of the three wheels, like images appearing in a mirror, and meditate with great certainty. These are the placements of deities on the left hand, that is, when all the friendly, like-minded yoginis gather, offer to the supreme hero with such a ritual. The gesture of the hand offering, which is fivefold, is to be offered with the five elixirs, such as excrement. Meditate on the four elements of the left hand as the four, eye etc., indicated by the four lines "Earth is the eye." The Fortunate One and Langka say that the four, eye etc., refer to the four Dakinis etc. Therefore, the Eye Mother and Mamaki and White-Clothed Mother and Tara are, in order, the Dakini and the Form Mother and the Severed-Birth Mother and Lama, that is, the four, earth etc., are the nature of these.
