All conceptual thoughts arise. If emptiness is abandoned in ultimate truth, conceptual thoughts that fall into the extreme of permanence will arise. If non-emptiness is abandoned in conventional truth, conceptual thoughts that grasp the cutting off of cause and effect will arise. This is the meaning of the scriptures. It is not as you explain it. Because in the same scripture, it says: The nature of reality is extremely equal, grasp it completely like water and a tree. Because it says to grasp it as without essence. Also, in the same scripture, it says: Those who desire to exhaust all suffering, and desire to attain the supreme bliss of perfect Buddhahood, should steady their minds and diligently contemplate, making its nature devoid of things. Therefore, diligently contemplating and ascertaining that its nature is emptiness is said to be the cause of exhausting all suffering and attaining supreme bliss. Furthermore, grasping things as true is grasping them as non-empty, and even though things are not true, grasping emptiness, which is empty of true things, as true, is also the meaning of grasping emptiness. As it says in "Accomplishment of Means and Wisdom": Those who wish to dispel delusion, those who have spiritual friends should abandon the grasping of things. Even if the names are different, there is no difference in conceptual thought. Therefore, the wise should completely abandon the grasping of things, and should not contemplate on non-things. A burning lamp can be extinguished, but after death, nothing can be done. Grasping things as real is acceptable, but grasping non-things is not like that. Here, grasping things as true is called grasping of things, and it is abbreviated as grasping of things. Just like that, it should be abandoned. Similarly, grasping emptiness, which is empty of true things, as true, these two names are different, but there is no difference in the conceptual thought of grasping at reality, so it should also be abandoned. The meaning of lamp etc. is: If you show that something is not true when you grasp it as true, it is easy to reverse the grasping of truth. But if you grasp the true emptiness of things, which reverses the grasping of true things, as true, it is like taking medicine that destroys undigested food, which makes the food unable to digest. It will become an incurable view, which is the same meaning as what is said in the Madhyamaka scriptures. This is like what is said in the "Commentary on the Mind of Enlightenment": Non-arising and emptiness, and the emptiness called selflessness, if someone meditates on its nature as inferior, then they are not meditating on it. You should know that what is said here is to prevent meditating on non-arising and selflessness by grasping them as true.

As it is said in the "Praise of the Transcendent," "To dispel all conceptualizations, if you reveal the nectar of emptiness, whoever clings to it, you greatly despise them." Thus it is said. Therefore, such principles are often explained in the scriptures and commentaries. Moreover, it is often taught to meditate by contemplating emptiness, selflessness, unbornness, etc. One should understand that these are not contradictory in that way. Do not hinder the generation of certainty in selflessness, which cuts the root of samsara. Such certainty, even in the state of an ordinary being, is not a separation from subtle conceptual thoughts, but it is very much in accordance with non-conceptual wisdom. Therefore, the non-conceptual arises from meditating on it, as is clearly explained in the commentary on the Guhyasamaja, "Flower in Hand," "Ear of Instructions," and "Entering the Method of Establishing Self." Much has already been said elsewhere, and I have not written it because I fear many words. In short, one should be certain that there is not even a particle of an object to be grasped as truly existent for the clinging to characteristics that grasps as true any phenomenon of samsara and nirvana. Moreover, for that meaning, one also sees that all the actions of cause and effect, dependent arising, are very reasonable, for the meaning that is free from the two extremes. For the realization of emptiness that obtains certainty through the power of valid cognition, even eating doubts that reverse the meaning has limitless benefits, such as making existence and peace decay, which the sutras and commentaries have repeatedly proclaimed. On top of that, in the unsurpassed Vajrayana, it is well understood that such a thing, with its special object, the joy born together, is well understood. Through the door of the great bliss of the object, it also explains the immeasurable benefits, both temporary and ultimate, of bestowing excellence in this very life. Therefore, the wise should enter into the view that thoroughly establishes the meaning of selflessness, and into the definitive instructions on the means of inducing uncommon great bliss, and strive to seek the co-emergent wisdom that unites bliss and emptiness as inseparable. In the Later Tantra of the Compendium, when asked about the meaning of "bodhicitta" as stated in the Root Tantra, it is said that the inseparability of emptiness and compassion is bodhicitta. The bodhicitta mentioned in the second chapter of the Root Tantra, etc.
