Therefore, the mind is focused on this, and remains equally until the mind can abide. There are two of these: not only practicing the illusory Sambhogakaya, but also when accomplishing the bardo for others, if one generates the previously mentioned illusory body from the substance of one's own body, then one can achieve excellence in the bardo. If one cannot do that, even if one takes the self-obtained body of the bardo, but in the mind, the ordinary appearance of the bardo body does not arise for a while, but the Sambhogakaya fusion of the faithful protector, the father and mother deities, appears, that is also very special. Third, there are three fusions with the Nirmanakaya at the time of the path. First, the fusion with the Nirmanakaya at the time of the path when waking up: As mentioned before, in the state of clear light at the time of waking up, separate the illusory body from the body of fruition, and after practicing the illusory samadhi, enter this aggregate of fruition, the aggregate of fruition does not move, and abides in the clear heart in the form of a wisdom hero. This is the Sambhogakaya of the fruit, because it has not become the object of the impure sentient beings, like a great illusion, taking a coarse body in the womb, just as the impure sentient beings can also see the Nirmanakaya. The illusory Sambhogakaya of the path time, which is not seen by the flesh eyes of other sentient beings, enters the coarse body, and the coarse body taken by it, which appears immovable, becomes the object of the flesh eyes, this is called the Nirmanakaya. Or, the illusory Sambhogakaya transforms the coarse body into what is seen by the flesh eyes of other sentient beings, this is called the Nirmanakaya. Second, the way to merge the dream Nirmanakaya when dreams appear when falling asleep: As mentioned before, rise from the clear light state of sleep into the Sambhogakaya, after practicing the illusory samadhi, enter the previous body of fruition, and abide in the heart in the form of a wisdom hero, and the Sambhogakaya transforms into a coarse Nirmanakaya, the meaning of merging with the Nirmanakaya is as mentioned before. Third, the way to merge with the Nirmanakaya at the end of the clear light of death: The clear light of death is what has been practiced before, and at the end of the clear light of death, rise into the Sambhogakaya.

After meditating on the illusion-like Samadhi, relinquish the attraction to be born in a desired and special place of birth. In that place of birth, during the bardo, combine the four emptinesses of death with the previously cultivated path, and when taking rebirth, engage in the practice of merging with the Nirmanakaya. The meaning of this is also as before. Thus, if you can obtain the power of the wind as previously explained, it is excellent, and you should strive for it. If you cannot obtain such power, then even now, you should remember the four signs of death and the appearance of the four emptinesses. You should meditate on them again and again. At the end of the clear light, when the bardo is accomplished, you should repeatedly meditate on rising as the bardo Sambhogakaya, etc. Only then, at the time of death, will you be able to recognize the four signs of death and the appearance of the four emptinesses, etc., and their differences will become very significant. This is a concise compilation of the essential points of the merging instructions, a notebook made by Khedrup Je. Secondly: Homage to all venerable Lamas. Here, I will explain the instructions on the nine mergings, which have three meanings: merging with the three kayas during waking, merging with the three kayas during sleep, and merging with the three kayas during death. The first has three parts: merging the clear light of waking with the Dharmakaya, merging the illusory body of waking with the Sambhogakaya, and merging the emanation body with the Sambhogakaya arising from waking. The first is: Relying on the essential points of the Vajra body and pressing on them, the wind enters the dhūti (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) of the heart, and the three actions of entering, abiding, and dissolving are performed, thereby causing signs such as smoke and mist to appear. After that, the appearances of increasing, attainment, and clear light appear. At those times, one should discern the view, and especially during the clear light, one should meditate by combining bliss and emptiness without separation. This is merging the clear light of waking with the Dharmakaya. The second is: When attempting to arise from the merging with the clear light Dharmakaya as previously explained, the illusory body, which is made of very subtle wind and mind, separates its position from the old ripened aggregates. If it is the case of Guhyasamaja, in an instant, it arises as the rainbow-like body of the first Sambhogakaya protector. This is merging the illusory body of waking with the Sambhogakaya. The third is: As previously explained,
