It should be understood through the means of... Firstly, the emptiness of arising is wisdom; the extremely empty that arises from that is skillful means; the great emptiness that arises from the union of those two is the near attainment of completion. The way of union is: the non-attachment of wisdom and the attachment of skillful means are explained as two types of attachment, existence and non-existence. Near attainment is not an intermediate attachment, therefore, abandoning the two extremes of being too attached and not being attached at all, it remains in a state of equality. From the near attainment of completion, the mind of clear light, which is empty of everything, arises. Thus, the four emptinesses are purified through the order of cause and effect, transforming into clear light, that is, through the near attainment of the union of the three emptinesses, the unsurpassed state of clear light is attained. The union of the three emptinesses is also called the union of the three consciousnesses. Just as the first step is briefly indicated in the root tantra, and then explained in detail by the explanatory tantra, similarly, should this order also be explained in this way? Although it is not explicitly explained in this way for the latter four steps, it can be understood. As in the sixth chapter of the root tantra, "The object of the mind is selflessness," etc., it is indicated in a brief and not obvious way. So, which explanatory tantra explains it? It is said in the Compendium of Conduct: "One should follow the explanatory tantras such as the Shri Jnana Vajra Sarva Samgraha Tantra, etc., to realize the appearance of the nature of the three consciousnesses." It is said. What is said in the Sarva Samgraha Tantra, which is quoted in the Compendium of Conduct, has already been quoted before. What is included by "etc." is what is explained in the Vajra Garland, and what is said in the Two-in-One Victory, which has also been quoted before. The appearance of the nature of the three consciousnesses, as it is said in the Compendium of Conduct: "One should follow that tantra and fully understand the reality of the three consciousnesses as they are." This is how it should be, and the eighty natures should not be taken as the nature. Secondly, here in the Compendium of Conduct it says: the reason why one must realize the nature of one's own mind, and a brief explanation of the state of that mind, and that one must rely on the great yoga tantra to realize its nature, and an explanation of the meaning of the tantra, the three minds and the natures, and...

The benefits of knowing as it is, and the faults of not knowing, are explained in six aspects. The first of these is: From "Thatness Condensed," it says: Son of lineage, abide in equanimity, realize your own mind individually! etc. From the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana: Enlightenment is knowing your own mind as it truly is. etc. Also, from the rules of the Tripitaka: It is said that if one tames the difficult-to-tame mind, one is liberated from the bonds of Mara. Therefore, one must seek what the true nature of one's own mind is like. These refute the explanation of some Indians and certain Bodongpas who say that the wisdom of mind isolation is the nature of the mind that possesses dharma, but not the dharma nature, otherwise it would be no different from what is explained below. The intermediate scripture clearly explains knowing the true nature of the mind, and the first scripture also says: In order to encourage the Bodhisattva to manifest the dharma nature of the mind when arising from the unwavering samadhi of Dondup, and the meaning of the third scripture is also that if one does not realize the original face of the mind, one cannot cut the bonds of Mara. In the state of mind isolation, although one realizes the dharma nature of the mind, it is not manifest, and in the state of luminosity, because it is manifest, it will not be repeated. Therefore, because one wants to manifest the illusory-like samadhi, one should abandon distraction and the five obscurations, follow the explanatory tantras, and realize the nature of the three consciousnesses! The second is: There are two ways in which the nature of the mind is taught in the Paramita Vehicle, the first is the way it is taught in the Lankavatara Sutra: The great Bodhisattva, because he wants to know his own mind, the appearance of grasping and apprehending, and the realm of the Buddha, should abandon the obstacles of noise and sleep, etc. It is said. The first sentence shows the nature of the mind that possesses dharma, and the realm of the Buddha shows its dharma nature. After that, the three consciousnesses become the cause of all things, so it is briefly shown, and from "For example" to "terror" it is explained in detail, in short, the realm of sentient beings in the three realms is consciousness, thus summarizing the meaning, before the three consciousnesses were the cause of all things.
