Also, those who are not suitable as expounders are: Furthermore, those who are endowed with fortune and have received the oral instructions, but who are foolish in intelligence and have no ability to apply the meaning, and who lead with the mind of benefiting others, will also be despised because their words are extremely inferior in merit. This has been shown, but this does not appear in Lakshmi's commentary. Those who have heard many tantras and have received the oral instructions of reality itself are suitable to expound the oral instructions, which is explained by the four lines beginning with "The tantra is." Knowing the six places refers to the ability to explain the tantra from the perspective of the six extremes. Thirdly, by the grace of the noble Vajradhara, I have heard many tantras, which explains how it was composed, the author, and the dedication of its merit. The grace of the noble Vajradhara refers to the grace of being embraced by the great Vajradhara in a dream. Shakya Mitra (Shakya She Nyen) is the ordination name of the Acharya, and the name of accomplishment is Nagarjuna. This is the self-view. Others say that Shakya Mitra is a disciple of the Acharya himself, and that the name of the disciple is placed on the treatise composed by the Acharya himself because of great affection. According to their view, the noble Vajradhara is Nagarjuna, which is an explanation of the view of others. Regarding this, in India, many, including Abhayakaragupta, believe that it was composed by Shakya Mitra, a disciple of the noble one, while some, including Lakshmi, say that it was composed by the Acharya himself. It should be understood in this way, in the "Stages of Manifest Enlightenment," it says, "The fourth, the stages of manifest complete enlightenment, this stage I have explained." In the "Stages of Union," it also says, "These five supreme stages." Therefore, the Acharya himself composed the five stages. If it is thought that the condensed stage is briefly summarized as one stage, and the completion stage has four stages, so it is the fourth stage of clear light, and he composed five stages, that is not correct. Because in the Vajra recitation, self-initiation, and the three stages of manifest enlightenment, there was no dedication of the root of virtue of the composition, but at the end of the completion of union, it says, "These five supreme stages, by whatever merit is obtained from the explanation, may all beings in the world rejoice in this samadhi of union." These five stages

At the end, a prayer of dedication of merit was made, because a brief prayer of dedication of merit was made. Therefore, it is clear that the five stages of the completion stage were made. If it is said that the prayer of dedication of merit was made at the end of the second stage, then it was not made by the Acarya. If it is said that the other stages of the completion stage were not made by the Acarya, then how can the five stages of the completion stage be established? Because of the reasons mentioned before, and because two quotes were cited from the second stage in the Compendium of Practices, this stage of unsurpassed intention was made by the Arya. However, because a separate dedication was made for this, and because the kindness of the Arya was heard, and many transmissions were heard, it is said that it was written by Sakya Mitra, therefore, it seems that the work of Sakya Mitra was added below the work of the Arya, and it was not made as a separate treatise. If it is said, then, can or cannot the boundaries of these two be grasped separately? If examined carefully, it seems that they can be grasped separately, up to "liberation from the ocean of existence," the three appearances have been shown, as well as the determination of self-nature, and the way to generate the wisdom of the three emptinesses, and the faults of not realizing it, and the benefits of realization. Just these complete the key points of mind isolation, therefore, it is clear that the Acarya made it up to that appearance. From then on, the generation stage practitioner, contemplating the three appearances of increase and attainment, contemplating the moon vajra etc., the way to generate the deity, and the completion stage practitioner, at the end of the four emptinesses, showing the way to generate the deity's body in the three appearances of forward and reverse, it is clear that it was made by Sakya Mitra. The Acarya, in the completion stage, at the end of clear light, the way to generate the deity's body in the fourth stage, as it is said, "How like a stream and milk," etc., and "past and future," etc., because it has already been said in the first stage. In short, if it is the Acarya's, then it is not appropriate to show the clear light in detail in the second stage, because one's own occasion is abandoned and explained in another occasion. If it is Sakya Mitra's, then when briefly indicating, the fourth emptiness appears, if it is combined with detailed explanation, then it is appropriate. The intention of "unsurpassed intention" is the meaning of realization. Unsurpassed is the tranquility of mind.

Realizing Suchness is superior to other paths. This is clearly a name given by the master. In the Compendium of Practice, it is also spoken of in this way. All are the three appearances and the natures. Utterly pure is clear light, this is clearly a name given by the master Shakya Mitra. The sequence of the unsurpassed intention has been explained. Svasti! May the lotus garden of the Victorious Teachings, filled with the fragrance of benefit and happiness. May the petals of explanation and practice bloom, the essence of the nectar of liberation. For the benefit of all beings, in Dege Lhundrub Teng (Derge Printing House), from the great Dharma monastery, may this Dharma giving spread. Sarva Mangalam!
