Since it is a Dharma called "ra," it should be understood as meaning "from the union of the five Buddhas." Thinking of the five Tathagatas in terms of objects and faculties is not reasonable as a common characteristic of dhyana. Although the two branches of dhyana, vitarka and vicara, possess that characteristic, since the samadhi of indivisible bliss and emptiness is shown as the characteristic, it will not encompass joy, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. As it says in the Lamp Illuminating: "Because it tends towards manifesting in suchness with joy," and "Because it enters into bliss and manifests in suchness," and "One-pointedness of mind is the emptiness of the grasped and the grasper of the mind." If someone says that, there is no fault, because the indivisibility of bliss and emptiness itself appears as the form of a deity, and thinking that the faculties enjoy the objects is considered the common characteristic of dhyana. Secondly, there is the distinction of numbers and the detailed explanation of the individual meanings. The first is, in that tantra it says: "Vitarka and vicara, as well as joy and bliss, and also one-pointedness of mind, in these five, dhyana is contained." The second is, in that tantra it says: "In the secret tantra, at all times, it is completely explained in various ways. The arising of the three secrets is vitarka, that itself, vitarka, is vicara. Similar to joy is the third, encompassed by bliss is the fourth, the arising and ceasing of knowledge and the knowable, one should know is the fifth, all Buddhas, reality, quiescence, abide greatly in all desires." Thus it is said. The secret tantra is the unsurpassed yoga tantra. The three secrets are the three of faculty, object, and the consciousness of the faculty. If divided in detail, it is five, three, fifteen. Without separating them, generally thinking of the three of object, faculty, and consciousness as the aspect of the Tathagata is vitarka. After dividing that in detail, for the object as well, the first of the two, the purity of means and the purity of wisdom: form as Vairochana, sound as Akshobhya, smell as Ratnasambhava, taste as Amitabha, and touch as Amoghasiddhi, and the second, form as Vajra Mother, touch as Vajra Mother, and the faculties such as the eye are also thought of as Bodhisattvas such as Kshitigarbha, which is vicara. Thus, meditate with vitarka and vicara.

The power of the Samadhi of the earth element, the arising of satisfaction in the consciousness realm is joy, and the arising of calmness in the sense realm is happiness. Like this, through the power of practice, from consciousness to the six consciousnesses such as the eye, and from the knowable form to dharma, what arises is the knower and the known. Its cessation is the wisdom that realizes emptiness, and when that coarse appearance of duality disappears, abiding in one-pointedness is one-pointedness of mind. The explanation of that is, the last two verses, which are "All Buddhas are peaceful in nature," and in the translation of Patsab, the last verse is explained as "Completely abiding in all space." The nature of all Buddhas is emptiness, and the power of meditating on it, the disappearance of the eighty kinds of coarse conceptualizations of nature is peace. Space is empty, and all is everything, therefore it is showing the fourth emptiness. Like that, in the Lamp Illuminating, "merely appearing" is saying the meaning of the first verse, appearance, increase, and attainment, and "all is empty" is saying the meaning of the last verse, the fourth emptiness. Although the difference of the four emptinesses appears, it is not included by mind isolation. That is the emptiness of the time of body isolation, which is of the same kind as it. Therefore, some people connecting the last two verses with the illusory body, and the two verses before it with mind isolation is unreasonable, it should be known. The third is, the inseparability of bliss and emptiness appears in the manner of ordinary sense objects, thinking that the senses enjoy the objects is gathering in, and transforming the sense objects etc. into the form of deities is meditation. Therefore, transforming the ordinary appearance into a special appearance is the meaning of practice, not what is to be abandoned and the antidote, because both are the means and the means born included by the path. If it becomes what is to be abandoned merely by the words "thus purified," then the illusory body will also become what is to be abandoned by luminosity, because it is said in the Five Stages: "The Samadhi like illusion, is purified by the true edge." Therefore. Gathering in is also, as previously said, the nature of the Samadhi gathered in by the mind that makes the mind, the ordinary sense objects will not become any gathering in or making mind. The fourth is, at the time of body isolation, the hundred and five lineages and the three
