Transforming it into an emanation is similar to taking birth in the intermediate state, which is to meditate on the emanation body that purifies rebirth. This is also because one has become accustomed to it through faith and attention, so in the second stage, it will actually become like that. Thus, the essence of existence, birth, and the union of things in accordance with the Dharma, is that by meditating on the three bodies of the path in accordance with the three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state, one also conforms to the three bodies of the result, and this is to make the form of the result into the path. In both stages, it is the same to meditate on the three bodies in accordance with the three Dharmakayas of the ground and the result. Therefore, if one fails to recognize the characteristics of the three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state in accordance with the Dharma in the first stage, then in the commentary on the tantras, the transformation of mind isolation and clear light into the illusory body and the union body, and the classification of transforming the enjoyment body into the emanation body, have been repeatedly taught. If these have already been given, then it is certain that there will be errors, so this is important. If the three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state are all taken as the object of purification in the first stage, then there will be no object of purification in the completion stage. If both are taken as the object of purification, then it is meaningless to have two means of purification for one object of purification. If one thinks like this, there is no fault, because here it is said that the completion stage should be generated in the same way that the elements dissolve in the process of death of an ordinary person. Therefore, it is essential to purify these three by meditating on the path that is similar to the three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state of the ground. In this way, the practitioner purifies his own three states of birth, death, and the intermediate state, gathering them into clear light, and meditating on mind isolation and clear light in a manner similar to death, which is the purification of death. The first protector, the illusory body, and the union body are similar to the form of the intermediate state, which is the purification of the intermediate state. Transforming these three into the emanation body of their respective stages is similar to the form of taking birth, which is the purification of rebirth. To purify one object of purification, one generates the three kinds of realization, superior, middling, and inferior, which arise in the beginning, middle, and end, like the rungs of a ladder. When purifying these three objects of purification, one needs to generate realizations that are of the same kind as them in order to purify them, and in the stage of the completion stage, one needs to generate realizations that are completely in accordance with the characteristics.

Nor will they be reborn. Even if they are to be reborn, they must first ripen the continuum with the first step of the path that is somewhat concordant. If they do not ripen it in this way, it is impossible for the roots of virtue to be perfected without being ripened, so the second step will not be reborn. Therefore, if one can clearly distinguish how much of the three objects of purification are purified by the first step that ripens the roots of virtue, and how much of the remainder that could not be purified is purified by the second step, one can gain a firm conviction in the definite order of the two steps as they are taught, and practice will not go astray. If not, then the essential instructions of the Noble Ones, such as the three samadhis, will be disregarded, and it will be said that the meaning of the tantras, as determined by the Father and Sons, is taught by this scripture, and one will waste time with some insignificant minor instructions, and one will not find the body of the path, and one will circle all the Dharma terms of the two stages of generation and completion around the essential points of the objects of purification, and one will not be able to lead with what appears to be the path, and one must seek firm conviction from the lama. The definitive conclusions, sources, and proofs of these are explained in detail in the Great Secret Path Stages and the Explanation of the Stages of Establishment, The Lamp That Illuminates the Essential Meaning of the Glorious Guhyasamaja, which should be understood from those three jewels of the three worlds. From the Great Yoga Tantras, the yogas of the support and the supported, which are meditated in accordance with the order of arising of existence, if there is no such explanation of the intention of the Noble Father and Sons, then merely arranging whatever is similar, saying that meditating on emptiness is like death, etc., will not produce any effect other than explanations of arranging similarities, so how could great intellects be satisfied? Therefore, the essential point of the path is the intention of the Noble Father and Sons, the essence of all the tantras, the explanation of the meaning of the Great Yoga Tantras, and in this land of snow (Tibet), one should cultivate a long-term familiarity with the treatises of the glorious lamas, who have become the venerable founders of the great chariot traditions, with a discerning mind. Regarding the body mandala, there are two ways of meditating: as the mandala of the body as the support, and as the mandala of the supported. The first is the front and back of the body, etc. Although it is not clear whether it is a summary or a mixture, it is explained in the Guhyasamaja Root Tantra, the Vajra Garland, the Lamp Illuminating, and the Stages of Establishment.
